Howard (knee) said the plan is to play two games for Grand Rapids of the AHL on Saturday at Texas and Tuesday at San Antonio, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.

Howard is hopeful of returning to the big club down the stretch, but Petr Mrazek is playing well and the Red Wings are well out of playoff contention. The club will take their time getting him back to full health. Until Howard is ready Jared Coreau will serve as Mrazek's understudy.
