Well, they played well. Both teams were streaking in the wrong direction. Detroit just was lucky that Tatar goal went in as easy as it did. All in all, I think it was good hockey, especially for a day game after the holiday.
I dont see one today... I responded to one you sent about a week ago, tho. Try resending and i'll see what happens. Sometimes you have to delete your in and out boxes, because if there are too many the PM system becomes non-compliant.
Matty, I sent you a PM on 12/30/15. My indications are that you havnt opened it yet. You gotta delete whats in your inbox/outbox and then you should find the PM i sent you.
well done Will, SJ now has the 2nd worst record in the WC and are only 1 pt up on the Oilers. Auston to Boston!
lol, that game was too tight, Sharks put up a fight. Mrazek is on fire, just 1 goal over his last 2 games. That'll win you some hockey games. Who's Auston?
Detroit's cap situation is so fucked this year. I didn't realize until last month. Holland has no leverage in trades because he's burning through all his LTI space. He'll have to waive somebody else or dump a player to make room for quincey if Kindl clears.
__________________ _______________________ "We're going through the maneuvers we're going to have to go through to position ourselves," Holland said. "If (Kindl) is claimed, I'll be happy for him. If he's not claimed then we'll have to make a move." The Red Wings need to make a move due to cap constraints, not the 23-man roster, since Quincey's return would give them 23 active players, including Kindl and Marchenko. "When you're in an LTI situation the league takes a snap shot of what your payroll is at. That becomes your cap," Holland said. "On opening day, after we put Pav (Datsyuk) on LTI we got as high as we could -- $66 million ? with all the moves we did. Then, unfortunately, (Johan) Franzen went on LTI 4-5 days in, and he'll be on LTI all season, so we're not getting out of LTI. "In effect we have a $66 million cap, not a $71 million cap because of the way the rule reads. So we got to deal with it." _________________ _______________________ Somebody is getting cut/waived for sure. Kinda messed up. I suspect Kindl clears, so break out the ax. I get confused when it comes to keeping up with roster juggling, but this looks like a fail on planning by Holland.
They still have a 71.4 million cap, it's just the LTIR rules prohibit excessive temporary relief. Funny how he worded it, but it's easier to understand that way. Kindl's contract all but assures that he'll clear imo. I'm sure he was shopped like everybody else who has seen waivers this year. It goes back to keeping too many young and redundant players around too many old injury risks. It's a recipe for inefficiency even though there are tangible gains because of the organizational depth. Kenny is going to have a tough time making moves any time soon, without adding additional assets to get a deal done. Franzen's salary drops below his cap hit starting in 17', with only 7.5 to pay out the final 4 years. Hopefully Kenny has been shopping for teams looking to make the cap without all the expenditures.
