Thats it in a nutshell. The Canes have outworked, out-hustled and flat out looked hungrier than the Wings.

Should be a better game from the Wings tonight if they respond to Blashill. I dont see in my opinion why the Wings cant flip this around against the Canes and be the team that dominates. I dont see the Canes as being superior when it comes to skating and if they are the Wings should know how to handle that with smarts and puck control.

    Drop it...

    Wings win, 5-3.

Huge night for Henrik Zetterberg, who earned both his 500th assist and his 800th point!

DETROIT -- Detroit Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg is set to join select company.

With two assists in Detroit's 5-3 win against the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre on Saturday, Zetterberg reached 800 points for his career.

The previous night, during a 3-1 loss against the Senators at Joe Louis Arena, Zetterberg scored his 299th goal.

He is the ninth Swedish player with 800 points in the NHL.

The others are Mats Sundin, Daniel Alfredsson, Nicklas Lidstrom, Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin, Peter Forsberg, Markus Naslund and Tomas Sandstrom.
Zetterberg's next goal will make him the seventh Swede to score 300, and the fifth player in Red Wings history to have 300 goals and 800 points, joining Gordie Howe, Steve Yzerman, Alex Delvecchio and Sergei Fedorov.

The Red Wings host the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday (7:30 p.m. ET; SUN, FS-D).

"When I came here as an assistant, I had the opportunity to see him day to day, to see [Pavel Datsyuk] day-to-day, to see [Lidstrom] day-to-day," coach Jeff Blashill told the Red Wings website. "It was an eye-opener when I came here as an assistant. Well, not an eye-opener, I shouldn't say that. What it was was a reaffirmation of why some guys are great. They're great because of the approach that they put in every single day.

"That's why he is what he is. That's why he's one of the best players in the world, has been for a long time and he continues to be because of the approach that he has every single day."

  14. hats off to the Wings after the Ferraro hit for doing nothing. Team Sweden could give these guys a run for their money. just another reason Ive turned into more of a casual fan anymore with this team

  15. cutter! how's the new place coming along? or did u sneak off of zug to post?

  16. its been hectic Lulzy, thanks for asking. tore all the carpet out upstairs which turned out to be a colossal pain. got new carpet ordered but I have to paint all the rooms and finish my crown moldings beforehand. I swear the guy that owned the place chewed on these things! their not down low with the divots, their up high - like chest high. how the hell do you do that? the painting outside has been sucking up all my time, tried to get it done before it got too cold but I can only do it on the weekends and every damn weekend its shitty - thanks Mother Nature you douchebag. also have the pole barn getting ductwork done- gonna be the man cave. this thing is huge, gonna be kick ass when I get done. Ive hardly been on here last few weeks. I go there every night after work and do some things, every once in a while Im like eff it Im going home and having a couple ginger ales. spent 3200 on a zero turn mower, never rode one before and it got delevered recently - holy crap is that thing AWESOME!! it even has a beer holder *THUMBSUP*

  19. holy crap, WINNING STREAK!!!11

lol @ toothy former owner. u got a pole barn, outstanding! how big? has it got a poured floor? mine's just gravel :(

what brand ZTR did u get? i thought about that when my 14 horse briggs blew up in the craftsman, but decided to go cheap and replace it with a 17.5 hp briggs intek. the bastard burns oil already, and the more i read, the more i think these engines are shit, and it's got a blown head gasket, which is a royal pain to replace in it. i'm kicking myself for not getting a ZTR, i got a million things IN my lawn to mow around anyway.

  20. think its a 48 x 68, Ill have to check on that Lulz. Its really not a 'pole barn' its a converted farmhouse that has two levels and nice concrete flooring. it has an addition on the back with two monstrous barn doors on each side of the back. the loft is gonna be the hookup, theres a propane furnace on kind of a weird setup and the guy only did half of the ductwork so although the house has natural (and I hate pigs on the side) Im gonna probably have to put one in on the backside. It also has a wood burning stove but I hate the smell of burning leaves or wood so thats going in the scrapper. its an older place, but its huge and has tons of potential. I like the older houses, they were built so much better and Im a big fan of brick - not siding. its gonna be a while before I get the man cave done but I promise when I do Ill post some pics. I also just bought a really nice air hockey table for it and Im taking my pool table apart within the next couple weeks(Red Wings pool table of course *THUMBSUP* ). although itll be a few months before were actually in there its tough walking away from my first house. and it sucks ball sac I wont be on the water anymore but Id rather have privacy at this point and the lot is pretty sizeable. wish I had the energy I has when I bought my first house to fix this one up. all these years of pounding stakes and doing construction is catching up w me

...little long winded there but Im excited/tired
