cutter, u gotta be geeked. cleary is history, not even going to grand rapids, and now all signs point to andersson being waived this week to make room for helm. to me, the big question at this point is: if no one else gets injured, who gets waived to make room for pavel?
no way Cleary and Andersson - Im liking Blash even more. Lashoff and/or Kindl your ticket awaits. why Andersson? I never thought hed leave. Babs guy maybe? regardless you must be pretty crappy if you get waived and your THE 4TH LINE CENTER. that guy always sucked. I love it when Im right. write it down because it happens once in a millenia atleast I dont make everyone hear about it
why andersson? look at who's on the current roster. only marchenko and larkin are waiver-exempt. i don't see them sending marchenko down, as he's the 7th dman and they're heading out of town. so u gotta waive someone. in my mind, andersson is the first to go, then it becomes a question of jurco or ferraro if pavel's ready to come back and no one else has gone on IR/ it sounds like helm won't be ready till friday, since no one got waived today.
lashoff's in grand rapids, he can't help. and they're not gonna waive a dman to make room for a forward, i don't think.
Agreed... Wings are stacked with forwards. I gotta think Ferraro or Jurco get sent. I dont see Sheahan, even tho he hasnt done much yet, but he's got the size and can go to the net. Its a tough call, which is a nice problem really.
During this mornings skate Helm is wearing a gray sweater which is usually an indicator that he will not be in the starting lineup tonight.
Red Wings lines are... Larkin-Zetterberg-Abdelkader; Franzen-Richards-Tatar; Nyquist-Sheahan-Pulkkinen; Miller-Glendening-Jurco
ahhh, ferraro scratched. i gotta believe it's either him or jurco on the hot seat after andersson gets waived to make room for helm.
Red Wings looked fast to the puck and fast on transition. Played well enough to beat the Lightning, 3-1.
Detroit Red Wings defenseman Danny DeKeyser could return to play Saturday, earlier than his expected recovery from a foot injury, coach Jeff Blashill said Wednesday. DeKeyser was injured in a preseason game Sept. 30 and the prognosis was he would miss 3-4 weeks with sprained ligaments in his left foot. Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens would be two weeks; Detroit also plays Friday against the Carolina Hurricanes. "There was some swelling after, but we just did the stuff that you would try to do to heal up a sprained ankle, icing and some acupuncture and stuff like that," DeKeyser told the Red Wings website. "I did some battling stuff out there today and so far it's felt good, no issues with it." DeKeyser has practiced this week. "A step forward for [Danny] for sure," Blashill said. "He certainly looks real good out there. We're hoping to have him at some point on the weekend. I'd say probably the earliest would be Saturday is what we'd be shooting for. But we'll still take it day to day." Forward Darren Helm, recovering from a concussion he sustained the first day of training camp, also might play Saturday. "Still day-to-day and that could change," Blashill said. "But that's what we're shooting for right now." Forward Johan Franzen did not practice Wednesday and Blashill did not provide an update on his condition. Franzen, who missed time last season with a concussion, skated Tuesday morning and then did not feel well; he was scratched from a 3-1 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning. ___________________________________ (NHL.com)
