+/- needs to go away, the sooner the better. Corsi numbers but him right in line for how Ruff has Cole at actual utilization, situational ice time, etc. and he's 8th or 9th relative corsi behind Hemsky and Horcoff. Benn is a -1 but a 8.4 relative Corsi for example.

If, your on a team full of -'s, and happen to be on the + side of things, you just are coincidently beyong lucky. Maybe back in the day when lines stayed more together and there was less speciallization, +/- would have been a better indicator as to informing a coach and players which of the 4 lines going needs to step it up and lock down defensively or pick it up offensively, but todays game has way too many line combo's and specialty players that i think +/- is diluted to a point of non-significance. I dont know if i made any sense, but at 430 am im trying my best. I also gave everybody a + for their opinions and input. (but it really doesnt matter, lol)
I like it too. actually, will, i'm kinda relieved by that news. i was worried helm's issue was more serious. i am happy to hear it's just an oblique strain. as for marchenko, we now have an RHD to put in for him

Honestly, I think Holland fleeced both of them. Needs were filled for almost nothing. This is the best deadline he's had in a while. Best news of the day is Phaneuf isn't a Wing *THUMBSUP*
Im by no means a Holland fan but I agree, this is the best offseason/deadline hes had in a loooong time. He addressed size and got that right handed shot. they both come off the books at the end of the year and he gave up nothing on our roster.....or otherwise really. Cole and Zidlicky have a lot of playoff experience to boot. very solid and full marks from me. I also like that he wasnt gonna pay more than 5 for Phaneuf, Im not as big of fan as I was a few years ago and he wouldve brought some things this team desperately needs but even at 5 is kind of a lot for him. no loss of sleep there. for the first time in forever - nice job Kenny
