Brian Lashoff cleared waivers at noon today. He is on his way to Grand Rapids.

how likely do you guys think it is that the Wings will acquire a top 4 D by the deadline?

my online sports book gave me a free $60 bet. most of the NHL SC odds aren't great but they have the Wings at 20/1. i like that number a lot but i think its imperative that Kenny gets a top 4 (RH) D.
I'm just not sold that Kenny will trade any of his future assets to get it done, not even sure that he should. just looking for some insight in the likelihood.

20-1 is a very nice number from a value perspective. NY numbers always suck.
What's the number on the Caps?

Until Kenny's young players really solidify a floor or show they're top line calibre, I'm skeptical he trades any of his bluechip types or his first for a worthwhile solution. Too many teams on the way up have space, and the good rentals at the blueline aren't really there. I think it's a bad year to do what Kenny is probably hoping to do, package quantity for quality. (miss Cleo told me what Kenny thinks).

    Caps are also 20/1
    LA is 14/1
    SJ 18/1

Hawks 4/1, Ducks 6/1, all the other contenders are around 10/1.

SJ was the other one I was curious about but 18 sucks.
Caps look like a promising one. I trust them to make an acquisition of meaning more than Detroit and Trotz probably has a one-time-blank-cheque for a trade purchase. I spelled check in canadian btw.

I think it's the Rags and the Caps in the Metro right now.

My problem with Detroit is that Boston, MTL, and TB all have players that can really exploit their weak areas and they'll have to beat 2 of them. If they have home ice I like them against MTL and TB, but I'm reluctant to bet on them if without home ice for 2 full series. They give up preventable goals in the third and the back end can't lock it down with good decisions late in games even though I think they would be consistently better through the first 50 minutes.

Washington has a new gm, and after that Erat trade, he could have a bad wedgie going on when he thinks about trades.

It's a tougher year than normal for me to come up with a strong opinion on a value bet but the caps and wings.

Only one answer. Bet em all!!!

At the morning skate for the Red Wings everyone is there and skating, including all 3 goaltenders. Only person missing is the Mule (concussion).
