I was reading an article by Brendan Savage over at mlive and he brought up some really interesting points about the up-coming Red Wings schedule... Here are a few highlights; 1) After playing 12 of their last 15 games at home, the Red Wings will play eight of their next nine and 19 of 26 on the road beginning Saturday in Ottawa.

    2) When it (the stretch of lotsa road games) finally ends Feb. 28 in Nashville, the Red Wings will have 21 games and less than six weeks remaining in the regular season.

    3) The Red Wings (18-8-9) don't play the same team twice in those 19 road games and 10 of their opponents are currently holding down playoff spots.

    4) The Red Wings will visit Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary during a four-game stretch that begins next week and from Feb. 21-28 they'll play in Dallas, Anaheim, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Nashville.

After playing Ottawa Saturday, the Red Wings will visit Boston Monday before returning home to host the New Jersey Devils on New Year's Eve. That's their only home game between now and Jan. 17.

Anyway, It's go time and it's about time. The schedule may look rough, but every team goes through it at least at one point in their season. To me the key will be the Wings staying healthy. I think thats the main ingredient to a successful run. Im going to dig all the hockey. Im looking forward to it. Nothing spells the long cold boring Winter, than hockey on a nightly basis.

Weiss, Kronwall and Jimmy Howard all skating at practice this morning.

Earlier today, McCullom was sent down to the Griffs, this would indicate Howard is at least healthy enough to be the backup.

I'll keep you posted with post's... i am the post man. I ring only once.

ok, ok so my humor is as dry as dessert bone. ya get what you pay for. :p

  8. the postman always rings twice is a damn good film, in spite of the title being a stretch which only makes sense at the very end.

(i refer to the original 1946 film, not the 1981 remake. never saw the remake, and since i see it stars jack nicholson, that's very unlikely to change :) )

Havnt seen it, honestly. This is quite embarrassing at times, as I havnt even seen the old classics. I have a lot of catching up to do. I dont mind Nicholson, but I will say this. I have seen him in a couple of shows I didnt really care for.

Meanwhile: Babcock has confirmed that Jimmy is starting in net tonight. Weiss has been cleared to go and Kronwall says he's ready, but has to get medical clearance tonight from his doctor, so he is the only real question mark at this point.

When Justin Abdelkader scores a goal, the Wings are 7-0-0. When Abby records a point, the Wings are 11-1-1. The point I make with this rather amazing fact... I hope Abby records many points tonight against them Bruins, or at the least, one.

Well Hell, Got the Abby goal, but the plan was a little shy of how I envisioned things. Wings drop one to the Bruins.
