The schedule says no Wings till Friday. Think Im gonna pay someone a visit.

...and by the way. That game is against the Blackhawks. Could have been one heck of a Wednesday Night Rivalry Game, but nooooooooooooo. (morons)

All hands were on deck at practice today, including Datsyuk. He hopes to be able to go Friday.

It's a preview of this seasons Stanley Cup Final, Bob. :)

It's going to be a great game. My nephew and his Blackhawks friend will be there too. I envy them. You would think they would take their old Uncle Willie with them, but noooooo. I cant afford NHL games anyway. I'll stick to the ECHL for now.

Anyway, Im not to sure about Chicago, but Detroit is pretty healthy, which is a pleasant surprise so far. Wings ought to be able to keep 4 decent lines together tonight. I think it's a good match-up for both teams. You guy's better be ready for that red hot Red Wings PP, lol. I also hope the Wings play smart and dont retaliate, hate to see them playing on the PK all night.

It's not even 6 am and im fired up about this game already. Hope it's a fast day.

Alfie and Yandle and if Mantha can spark the offense a little better, I'm wouldn't rule Detroit out of contention. It won't take much for me to like them coming out of the Atlantic more than I like Chicago's chances of getting by both Minnesota and STL again.

They have enough continuity to hang with anybody defensively up front and the blueline isn't perfect but they skate well enough to get it done. They're only real issues are that they're a little too easy to defend against and they have more growing pains to work through in my opinion.

    They still suck though.

  11. i'm actually pretty impressed with how the young D corp has developed. i had faith that they'd solidify, but i didn't expect this much progress this soon. they need a true shutdown Dman (sorry, but i don't consider kronwall to be such a thing), but all in all, i'm pleasantly surprised with the progress on D.

am i missing something about Yandle here?

  12. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

lol, no. You are not missing anything about Yandle, just a hypothetical.
Myers may be a shutdown-type someday but he's a long ways off imo so I just picked what I thought would be the best of the available dman.

I don't mean it though. Detroit sucks. I hear Pitbull in the first period so that really messed up the Hawks. Cheetrz never win in the end. Enjoy it, Hawks let you win.

    Srsly, detroit sux.

Holding Chi to 26 shots is quite the accomplishment. Solid game by Detroit. Hawks were being stupid with the puck and Detroit made them pay and did enough to cover their own mistakes. I would have liked to see that game without the Kaner line turnovers in the middle of their zone for the 1st and 2nd goal but I don't think it would have changed the outcome.

Solid game by the Wings, even better for the wings was that I thought there were still a number of mistakes they could have eliminated. Always nice to win by 3 knowing they can still play better.
