STATEMENT FROM THE HOWE FAMILY

The Howe family would like to thank friends, family and fans for your overwhelming well-wishes, prayers and support for Gordie. He suffered a significant stroke on Sunday morning while at his daughter's home in Lubbock, Texas. His condition remains guarded, although he is showing some signs of improvement. We acknowledge that there is a long road to recovery ahead, but Dad's spirits are good and his competitive attitude remains strong.

wow Gordie was ripped. Terrible news on him I hope he comes out ok. So hard to picture arguably the toughest guy to ever lace them up in such a fragile state

 

Weiss lasted 2 periods last night for the GR Griffs before being pulled for 'precautionary reasons'. I wonder if Toronto would be interested in him?

 

It was a groin problem I read on multiple reports, he's going to be worthless for at least another 2 weeks even if it was only a minor tweak.

This contract is in the top 10 of bad contracts written under this CBA so far. I thought it was a steal for Detroit at the time *BYE*

 

This is the worst non-penalty, penalty call I have ever seen. Anyone ever seen anything worse than this? Please share...

The Red Wings have recalled Weiss back up from GR. Maybe he is good to go. Im pulling for him. I would like to see what he can do. Ive been waiting such a long time.

i thought Weiss reinjured his groin and thats why he left GR.
and i thought that it was the best signing of that offseason.

 

They just put Weiss on the 7-day IRL. I guess they called him up to do that. Cleared a roster spot.

Franzen back Sunday. Nestrasil is likely to get the healthy scratch.

Sabres are averaging only 21 shots per game on the season, and only 12.5 shots per game in their last 3. If the Wings go in there taking a nap, the Wings will get their hats handed too them. Pedal to the metal... the only way to roll.

 

In Quincey's absence, Brian Lashoff will be playing Sunday.

I did not watch this one, so I won't comment about the Wings' sleeping habits. But, it serves as a reminder that the Sabres are in the NHL. Every team would do well to remember that because if they come to play they're likely to come away with two points, (the Sharks excepted). Otherwise, I believe the team has one 3-5 game winning, (or at least non-losing) streak in them this season.

(I have a new computer and haven't figured out the controls yet; the auto-spell constantly wants to changes Sabres to Sabers. Gotta get that figured out.)
