That was kewl, I watched the first and part of the second. I'm kicking myself for not recording the end of that one instead of AZ-MIN.
Bab's say's he's going with Gus in goal tomorrow against the Flyers. The Wings have not won a game in Philly since the 97' Cup run. That's a changin' tomorrow, dammitt!!!
After the 1st and 2nd, there was no way I thought there would be a comeback of any type. They looked terrible, imo. Just flat out flat, especially in the 1st. Looked better during the second at times, but just couldnt clear their own zone or sustain pressure in Pitt's zone. The Pens PP was a thing of beauty to behold... very, very impressive. Great passing and location of the open lanes for a shot. The last few minutes are still unreal too me. I couldnt get too excited over it because i was having a hard time believing what I just saw. Very unusual game.
What a lame loss. The Wings dominated every facet of the game but the scoreboard. We need Franzen back ASAP.
On a side note. Bab's had a idea the other day. He's contemplating having 2 defenseman on the PP. Might as well give it a go, or at the least work on it in practice, imo. I wasnt all that impressed with Datsyuk, the play maker, playing on the point. Just didnt look right too me. I say let him roam around the net and put some fire power at the blue line.
Yes. One defenseman back at the point running the offense. They started the season that way, but if things dont change in a hurry, i wouldnt be surprised to see that changed. I think their just a bit unlucky and miss a juicy rebound from time to time. Ive seen quite a few wide open nets get missed completely.
Not the greatest news out of the Red Wings skate this morning. Franzen could only get a couple strides in comfortably and then felt tightness in the groin. A return to the lineup for this week is highly unlikely and prolly not going to happen.
