  1. 57 in 3 years in the QMJHL which is long known to be the highest scoring league in junior is what stood out to me. 40and 50 goal scorers are commonplace there. his best was 22. But he does have a decent amount of assists. add that to only 16 goals in 70 at GR and I guess it was kind of a head scratcher. Im sure youve seen him more than me and I trust in Babs so hope he does well. I had work to do last night I see we won but I didnt get to watch much of the game unfortunately. Good win though. I really like our forwards this year. lots of kids with speed, should be fun to watch. Im really glad Jurco made it, I want to see what he can do over a full season

They looked very good against the Bruins. I was impressed they took the play and controlled it for most of the game. The play, for a large part of the game, was in Boston's end of the ice... Wings , by a large margin, out shot them too. If it wasnt for Rask being sharp, it would have been ugly for the Bruins. Good effort and decent puck control by most of the lines. The one Boston goal came on a pretty play by Bergeron, who stole the puck and skated around Ericksson like he had concrete shoes on and made a perfect shot over Jimmy's glove hand. By the way, Jimmy looked awesome at times. He was flashing the leather out there. :) (sorry, i had a rod allen moment)

Your right on about Nestrasil and his numbers, comparatively his numbers from the Q are nothing to write home about, but he's solid and consistent. He seems like a steady Eddie, who is going to stay healthy and keep applying a good forecheck and pressure. He seems to be the type thats still getting better and still has plenty of upside. Anyway, I only saw him on a crappy team in Toledo and he clearly stood out from a lot of the guy's, which probably isnt saying much. He played well last night and had his number called quite often.

Trade rumors about Tyler Myers going to the Wings or the Ducks are heating up again:

I do not want a first that is likely to be about #16-24. I do not want a prospect since the Sabres already have a lot of them. Any trade would likely involve a package with perhaps one of Detroit's prized prospects, a bad contract, and then something for Myers and another prospect.

Myers is 25 y.o., just at the age that most D-men establish themselves in the NHL. Myer has the potential to be a phenomenal player for the next decade; Buffalo has a stellar defensive pipeline, so they will get a lot of attention from teams that want to improve their blueline.

  6. sooo, where do u see cleary fitting in with the sabres?

Detroit has a bunch of something Buffalo could use, a bunch of wings (as in LW, RW) that can skate and have top 6 potential.

Clearly we thinking along the same lines. But, to answer your question, I do not see him fitting, but I do not mind carrying deadweight if it meant the team got one of your really good youngins.

Agreed. I have always targeted Detroit as a very good fit for Tim Murray's speed-dial. Unless Anaheim would include Etem, I would much rather that any Sabres move to the west side of Ontario's southern tip.

    I'm thinking Jurco myself.

  11. curse u, hockeybob. i'm always reluctant to part with anyone with a funny name.

so, in summation: go frk yourself.

  12. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

    Right in the anthanasiou?

I have no clue how to say that. Imagine an idiot sounding out the name different ways by themselves...that's me right now.

  13. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Btw, both of those names would be among those in a package I try slapping together for Myers. They don't have room at C or d.

  14. i swear i heard one non-wings announcer call him "And then i saw you".

for all i know, that's the correct pronunciation *DONT_KNOW*

  15. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

lmao, I've heard 3 different pronunciations and I'm not sold on any of them.

  16. I like Tyler Myers a lot. I dont care if hes regressed in a lot of ways after his rookie year. He does have a bad contract but he also gives you many things we dont have. Hes huge, can play in all situations, skates pretty well for 6'7, his wingspan in itself will help in our zone, stays healthy, can give you tons of minutes, hes young and I really think he would thrive in our system. Hes played on a bad team since day one. You put him in a puck posession team with good forwards and I suspect you see a much different player. Im all in especially if we can unload CLeary. If Jurco is part of the deal then no dice. Him, Mantha and Nyquist are untouchable for me

  17. ...almost forgot, if it keeps cement shoes Lashoff off the ice thats a double bonus

Well... I think it's going to be pretty hard to find a match. Hmmm, would the Ducks consider trading Etem?

The price for Detroit has to be higher since they're in the same division. I do not want to have to start hatin' on Myers because he's killing the Sabres for the next decade.

  19. hes also a right handed shot and thats huge on a team like the Wings. Havent had a PP shot from that side since Rafalski retired - unless you considered Sammy a solution :D

  20. lol @ sammy the solution. but wait, i can think of one case...

"We need to give them a hostage"
