It sure was nice to hear Mickey again... My computer was acting strange last night and my anti-virus was busy, so I landed up listening from about mid-way through the second to the Toronto radio guy's... they did a good job. My streams were nice and clear, but to many buffering episodes to suite me... that hasnt happened in a while. That is a great 3rd line. They were moving the puck well, creative and skating well too. Ive been impressed with a lot of the Griffs play this year. Wings will have some solid replacements to step in when the inevitable injuries occur. The puck movement in the defensive zone has been stellar so far and the goalie play has been great. Looks to me like Babcock has got a lot of starters shelved until the regular season starts. Helm, Nyquist should be ready when first puck drops too. Hearing positive reports on both of them.
Alfy skating around right now at practice. Looking good, I hear. Probably doesnt count for much tho... can he take some contact? Thats what I want to know. First things first, I guess.
Tatar is going to be OK and Datsyuk is skating at practice this morning and appears to be passing and shooting very well. He is in a gray no contact uni, btw. Still estimated to be out 2-3 weeks. Babs said he was a quick healer.
FYI; Mantha has broken leg. Fracture just below the knee. He is on the non-active IR. Datsyuk on the 7-day IR.
Wings 0 for the PP. Out shot, 127 to 5 and lost 32-0. ...or something like that. Fans in Toronto are in a parade right now lifting and drinking from their Tim Horton coffee cups. Toronto - your 2014 preseason Stanley Cup Champs!
Oct. 4 -- at Boston (TD Garden), 5 p.m. Last tuneup of the preseason... notice the 5pm start time. It's just about time to get the show on the road. I like that! (4days)
