Unfortunately, I think it's safe to say Datsyuk, Ericsson, Mule, Helm, and Howard will all miss some time with injury. DeKeyser had his biggest workload last year, I think there's a good chance he wears over the course of the year too. Fortunately, they're hedged against injuries better than last year because of the system. While they have a good chance at taking a nasty string of injuries again (like more than half the league), they are much better suited to deal with the injuries. If I'm a Detroit fan, I think there's a really good chance to have a very strong team come the spring, especially in the East, but they're going to need the studs healthy and one more top 9 and a top 4 added to the mix as many have already stated in one form or another. I don't think they'll have to worry about fighting with the number 4 spot in the metrosexual division for the 8th seed. Buf, Ott, and FLA aren't as good as Detroit either. I don't think they'll have to worry about watching the scoreboard everynight like last year either. TB won't be as big of a surprise with Cooper anymore and Toronto still has Carlye. In other words, I don't think getting to the postseason will be as stressful and I think Datsyuk going down now instead of later might actually help make the ride a little easier. I think health and conditioning/experience with the long schedule are going to be the only two things that make getting to the postseason really tough to make. Even if Babs is a distraction and/or losing the lockerroom, there are too many players fighting for ice time for that to really be a problem imo. I don't see 100pts, but I think 95 or 96 will be reasonably attainable even with a string of injuries.
I'll take that in a heart beat. Some have Detroit pegged as last in the Atlantic. I dont care where they finish, just hope for the playoffs.
I read this and I am thinking: "how can anyone peg Detroit to finish below Buffalo?" The mere suggestion does not ding that person's credibility, it completely destroys it. I do not believe that the Wings are a lock for the playoffs, but Buffalo is a lock to finish below them.
I tried to find the article, but I cant. I wish I would have quoted it. It wasnt anyone significant anyways, but they had the Wings battling for last with Buffalo and both behind Florida. I remember thinking that I sure hope they were joking or flat out wrong. The Wings are looked at by most others as somewhere in the middle of the conference. The highest i seen them in the preseason prediction machines (which imo are just meaningless anyway) was 13th.
I also should have been more careful in the wording. It wasnt 'some' it was just an article i happened to come across. My bad... wont happen again. I didnt use the proper wording.
It's more like being a flat out fucking idiot! I can see someone making a case for Florida; they could have a very good season in the mold of what the Avs did last year. But for that, everything would have to break right for them and they'd still need some luck. I expect Florida to contend for a low playoff position, but they're a year or two away from being better than the Wings. (Even here were need to discount the fact that Detroit has a very impressive pipeline and as for overall prospect depth one that I like better than Florida's.) Buffalo? Buffalo! That guy is a fucking idiot!
May have been the BR... dont know for sure. Hearing delay's to the start of tonights game. Maybe 60-90 minutes because the Blackhawks had problems with their plane.
Tatar from Sheahan and Eriksson, 1-0 Wings after 20. No stream, no radio... gotta search the webs for updates. Hell it's only preseason, but it still the Hawks and Wings. wtf?
http://livetv.sx/en/eventinfo/254615_chicago_detroit/ pay no attention when they say it's another language. that rarely proves to be the case - i'd say well under 1 in 100.
ok duh, belay that - two of them non-functional, and my chaperone refused to let me go to the middle one.
1-0 Wings, after 40. SOG, 27-14 Wings. I hear the game is only being recorded for 'internal' purposes only. There's video being shot in case the NHL needs to see something... hence the no public feeds. If I understand things correctly.
it's strange, i see bunches of links for it - but they all either don't work, or have something else (college football)
