Coach Babcock split up Zetterberg and Datsyuk on the power-play units in practice Wednesday and put Abdelkader with Datsyuk and Franzen. Looks like coach Babcock is changing things up a bit to spark the PP units. Sure looking forward to tonights game...a very pivotal game. Will be interesting to see what kind of style the Blackhawks will come out playing. Will they storm Howard and try the hitting game? Or just try to bury Jimmy in SOG's. Probably a bit of both. I hav'nt been this excited over a hockey game, well...since Monday
Here's the site for his home town: http://www.ekburg.ru/ They have an exciting "keyboard monument" too. Neither bit of info does anything to help us understand why he's a triangle head. My guess would be industrial waste in the water supply or alien DNA used when he was fabricated.
I agree 100 percent. Although I believe Hank is a great 2-way player it's hard to say that he's dominating a player who in the last 3 years scores a playoff goal in about every 10 games he plays. Even worse for the Hawks in my opinion is this year I see something even worse related to Toews. In my opinion he's very rattled right now. His interviews after games 2 and 3 were way too quiet and almost a little whiny. "they hook and hold me too much"... bla bla bla. Man up Mr Toews... Duncan Keith hasn't exactly put the team on his shoulders either. Coach Q said after the Minnesota series that even though the series ended fairly quickly and without much threat or drama his team really didn't play very well. Since I only watched parts of every Hawks Minny game I wasn't sure if he was just being a coach or serious about what he was saying. After watching every minute of this series I think I now totally understand that he was serious. I didn't expect this much from my Wings in this year's playoffs but the Wings are not the Wild. The Hawks can certainly still win this series but it's gonna take near their best effort to get it done.
Yeppers. It definitely is pretty exciting, that's for sure. I'm not sure there was even one Wings fan on these boards who honestly made the prediction the Wings would be up 2-1 in this series.
maybe we can get an official eye witness statement which states which way Mama Datsyuk's vaggy was facing when she squeezed out that Dude Ranch dinner bell.
Toews is Canada's adopted son after the Olympics, Conn Smythe, and Crosby injuries. I've noticed him whining and bitching after whistles extensively in 2011 through the lockout and now. I don't think it's any reflection of his play. He's done it on hot and cold streaks, but because he's a water-walker, little notice is ever made. He's an excellent captain and elite player but I think he's been mischaracterized to an extent. I've been very happy with Keith. All of them switched roles from where the year started. Roszival gets a few too many shifts imo, but overall I haven't been unhappy with the blueline (and what I expect of them) other than Seabrook.
Wow, up 3 games to one . I doubt you could find a handful of people who would think the Wings would win 3 games the whole series . 3 chances to close it out . It would be nice to win it in a game 6 at home . But the more chances the Hawks have the more the pressure is on Detroit . Lets go win it at Chicago Saturday . Go Wings!!
Next Hawks and Wings game is Saturday night at 8et on NBC and CBC. Nice there is only one day off between games...I cant stand waiting.
agreed Bill, I thought 7 games and the Hawks would win the series. it can still happen but I hope Im wrong in the worst way
seriously, how much fun is this? imagine how all these trolls are feeling now - the people from wherever, who just hate the wings' success over the years, the fans of the Preds and Blues who couldn't stop talking about the changing of the guard (and there was at least one Jackets fan in that group), doogie howser on the glogs... lotsa people couldn't wait to start throwing dirt on the coffin. hope those folks are enjoying this
My favorite CBS trolls were Minnesota Wild fans, one in particular I couldn't stand... had to log off when he showed up. I wanted a re-tool because I didn't believe the Wings could win the cup this year. Obviously IF they can get by the Hawks their chance of getting to the finals increases dramatically. As Cutter has said all along I pray to God I was wrong. I pray to God Howard continues to play like this and we go all the way. I've never wanted to be wrong more in my life....
Oh yeah. Don't you remember the Wild fans on CBS who got upset when some of us predicted they could end up anywhere from 7th to 10th place in the west? If not for a couple late wins maybe they don't get in.... I'm not sure the way they tailed off that an 82 game season would have been good for them, we'll find out next season. Somehow a few Wild fans believed Suter and Parise were going to bring them a stanley cup right away. Some forgot Suter is only 1 of 6 regular dmen and Parise is only 1 of 12 forwards. I know the Wings went after those guys but I was not happy when I heard the Wings may have offered over 90 million per player. Unless your name is Yzerman, Federov or Datsyuk or Zetterberg I don't wanna see forwards on Detroit making 90 million plus. Dmen? Different story..... but I'm still not sure that Parise, even if he is a norris trophy candidate this year is worth 100 million dollars that he signed for. I was a much bigger fan of Shea Weber myself.... even with that WWE move he made on a Wings player last year.
