It will be fun watching these baby Browns grow up this year . there will be some WOW moments and some that will make you want to pull your hair out .

Before this season ends Kiser will be the starter . it would be great if he showed enough that we can spend all those draft picks elsewhere .

2018 LOOK OUT here we come again !

A decade ago, 2017, the following quarterbacks were starters:

    Jon Kitna

    Vince Young
    Jason Campbell
    Marc Bulger
    Tavaris Jackson
    Joey Harrington
    Damon Huard
    Trent Edwards
    Josh McCown

... and these bums started for the incumbents:

from what I've been reading, Osweiller is spectacularly overthrowing everybody and everything at practice. Pretty much a familiar tune...

On the other side, boy you gotta love the reports about our new SS....Evidently Peppers is serving notice that he is the big dawg of that secondary. I guess he has been most impressive this week. Layin out hits, breakin up passes, taking pick 6's back to the house...According to recent reports, between Peppers and Garrett, it's hard to determine who the coaches are more impressed with....It's music to my ears hearing reviews like that. WOOF!!!

Wow...I posted that last one an hour and a half ago, and nobody has told me to "hold my horses" yet...That is progress my friends! lol! woof woof!!

    @IrishDawg42

Looks like you may be getting your wish. (I assume this means for starter for good and not just pre-season)

LOL, I just read a couple of things on Bleacher Report, quotes from Joe Thomas...

And, for the record I STILL HAVE NEVER SAID I WISH/WANT THEM TO NAME KIZER WEEK 1 STARTER...

You keep saying that's what I said, and I keep correcting you that I said I want him playing against the 2s when they play the Giants...IF and only IF his play doesn't drop from that against the 3rd string of the Saints, THEN start him preseason game 3 against the 1s to see how he responds.

You know we agree on this point, right?

LOL, I know, but you keep bringing me up as an advocate for naming him week 1 starter...I have NEVER said that, not once. I have only ever talked about preseason.

(edit) now, if he responds better to the 1s than Osweiler and/or Kessler do to 2s, then yes, I will be championing him to start week one...I'll throw that out there right now. I want the player who gives us the best chance to beat Pittsburgh Sept. 10th.

    Agreed.

And I'm not going to try and even make an argument that Kessler has a superior skill set to Kizer. I'm just going to let Joe summarize it for me:

"While he's exceeded most peoples' expectations, that doesn't just mean he's ready to be the starter tomorrow. You don't want to see a guy lose his confidence and lose his swagger by being played before he's ready."

What's thrown me for a loop in all this is the ascension of Osweiler. I don't know if this is a motivational thing for Kessler, a trade audition for another franchise, or what... but it's almost criminal of the Browns to start a QB as bad as Osweiler - especially against a great team like Pittsburgh.

Sure, Cody lacks the arm but he can sustain drives, convert third downs, and make smart decisions with the football.

Just as long as the "smart decision" is the extremely cautious one, and never involves throwing the football beyond 10 yards from L.O.S.....;)

If "dinking and dunking" is your game, Cody K. is your guy...

    Cody Kessler aggressiveness: 20.5

Yes SAS, but the difference is you have to respect the deep ball on all those other guys. Nobody respects Cody Kessler's arm on deep throws, and it bottles up the offense....If you go with Kessler, you are very limited on what you can do offensively. Not so with Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Carr, etc...But you already know this.
