    FWIW...

No TD, you're 100% correct. You have never said someone couldn't show support to a QB candidate. However, you can show support to your guy (like you did with Johnny Manziel a d RGIII) without making disparaging comments about the other candidates while you do it. The truth be known, I also liked what I saw out of Kizer last Thursday. The only difference is that I choose to at least recognize the level of talent against which he did it.

You are also correct in that my opinion doesn't directly translate to facts. That is precisely why I started that statement with "IMHO".

I'm just sick and tired of the different factions on here that think they have to discredit every one of the potential starters that isn't their guy in an attempt to prove a point. In my world, every one of these four guys are CLEVELAND BROWNS and, as such, should be given every ounce of respect.

What changed is that he looks more "ready to go" than the veteran that was traded for and the incumbent Browns experienced starter.

No one has made that determination yet..All I have stated is the want for him to run against the 2nd string of he Giants and if he looks just as good as he did against the 3rd string of the Saints, THEN have him go against the first string Buccs in preseason game 3 to see how he responds.

Have you stopped to think the future may be the present?

Kizer is an extremely smart person and player. If he grasps the concepts through good coaching, he is capable of getting up to speed in a hurry. I have said it many times, he was stunted in South Bend due to some bad coaching decisions. That is the primary reason he left the Irish early. I still believe if they had replaced Kelly this off season, Kizer stays to help the Irish and finish his degree...I also believe if THAT had happened, he ends up in the top ten draft, even with the influx of talent possibly coming out in 2018.

It's also harder to gauge where the team is at with an inferior QB playing, if that is the case. What do we do with the young receivers who know what they see and feel on the practice field? What of stunting their growth? Is that a good byproduct of sitting a player simply because he is a rookie? Why are we not worried about frustrating Myles Garrett to the point that his growth is stunted by starting him too early?

If the kid can play AND handle the pressure, there isn't stunted growth, but accelerated progress.

I'm not sure I have attempted to discredit the other potential starters, if it is me you are in fact talking about. In fact, I defended some of Osweiler's play from the Saints game. Much of the animosity seems geared towards me, and frankly I just don't understand. Please help me understand what I have said to offend you.

I am not offended. Merely tired of all of the negative rhetoric.

First off, I've been just as guilty as the rest in some of my prior comments about Manziel and/or RGIII. It just serves no purpose.

One can tout their QB of choice without the disparaging comments about the others.

I haven't said ANYTHING about Cody Kessler that hasn't been said 1000 times by the "talking heads" of pro football, save for the mom remark. Hopefully it's understood that was for humor...

Look, I like the kid. I've said many times that I'd love to have Kessler as my back up QB...He's smart and accurate with the football. Those are outstanding qualities....Calling him a back-up, is not a slam in my book. How many wannabe QB's would love that job?

I'm not attempting to discredit the man...His play on the field speaks for itself.

Fair enough Lym, I still don't understand what I have commented disparagingly about the other two, but I do agree that negativity doesn't get us anywhere on here. I will try to gauge that in my future posts...

I am the ultimate Cleveland Browns homer, and I have no problem admitting that....If you all think I'm too negative in regards to the Browns, I'll just stop posting....My friends, and everybody that's ever met me will not believe this. lol!

I hate to beat a dead horse, but who has NOT acknowledged that Kizer did what he did against inferior talent Lym last Thursday? You guys can fact check me, but I'm pretty certain I was the first to point out he did it against guys who won't be in the league in three weeks...

Nobody did...We are Browns fans, who need to be put in their place. There is no optimism aloud here. Only doom and gloom.:sos:

lol! No shit! Whatever you do Bluez, don't show any optimism...I hope you are feelin better buddy.

I guess if you like what you see from the Cleveland Browns, all I can do is recommend that you keep it to yourself....

Publicly showing your approval will only lead to aggravation....There used to be a time when we could celebrate great plays and such, but evidently, we have been so freakin deplorable as a franchise, that it's just assumed that we got lucky, or it was a fluke or whatever the phuq.....Talking positive about the Cleveland Browns makes every phuqing football "expert" in the free world come out to remind you how much you really suck...Especially jaded Browns fans, which I found somewhat surprising....

  14. That's why the NFL is so bad now...QBs that wuldnt even touch an NFL roster back in the day are starters

  15. TopDawg Legend

(rolling eyes) Yeah the NFL is just terrible now....It's too bad the guys today don't dedicate themselves to the sport the way they did back in the day. lol!

  16. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

I have to agree with TD on this one...I don't think it's worse QBs than back in the day, it's the players on the other side of the ball that have gotten better as a whole. There are 12 guys capable of being studs, and the real studs sticking out would have been super studs back in the day. Every player has to work harder just to keep their job in today's NFL.

In case you can't read it, above Trubisky it says, "*Trubisky's rating suffered primarily from 2 dropped passes on 6 attempts under pressure last night".

    That's impressive.

Thanks . getting there . this learning how to walk again isn't all its cracked up to be .I look like a drunk Frankenstein somedays ..In the storks defense he had no time with the #1 offense until the game . Kessler was given every chance to win the starting job and blew it .once again only going from what I have read .I haven't been to camp and I'm no scout or GM . Kiser was impressive and to be honest surprised me . I didn't like the pick at the time only because he was so inconsistent at ND . I would like to see Kiser get a start with the #1 offense and Cam Erving HAS TO GO ..God forbid something happens to JT . the O Line depth is horrid .
