    Happy 2018 everyone!!

Thanks for posting this @Mongo_76 :) That's brilliant news about your boy and I wish him all the success in the world!! Baseball huh? Do you remember a guy named Philip Devey who was originally selected in the 5th round of the 1999 Major League Baseball draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers, having played with them at Yakima, San Bernardino, Vero Beach, Jacksonville and Las Vegas from 1999-2003? That's my cousin :) I'm not even sure why I said that. It's practically the only thing I know about baseball.

Speaking of sports ignorance ... all of you guys know how limited my knowledge is of football. Yet you have all shown me the utmost courtesy and patience while I've fumbled around trying to figure out what all of this means. For that I give great thanks, for not being publicly outed as being an impure and slightly unbalanced Bears fan.

I jumped onto the CBS board in 2006 as well. I was pulled in by Lombardincoke who told me I was a Packers fan. I did that gig for about 2 years I think. I didn't understand much about that team either except that stupid head should never wear that off field toque over his big stupid head. But I digress ... Bww listened to me rant about football one day and based on my obvious thirst for knowledge he declared me a Bears fan. That's why I showed up here when I did. CBS was fun .. with the likes of Einsamer Wolf screaming his craziness at everyone, including me. I'm not sure if any of you know this but he actually became a member here but has never posted. I think Bww is on his friend list or something ... which might explain why Wolf has never posted here LOL

So I have to say this ... I love you guys. Each and every one of you. You all make me laugh and you all terrify me. I stopped participating on the game threads because, quite honestly, you guys scared the bejesus our of me. Life kind of gets in the way sometimes but it's always fun to come on to our board and to see what you guys have been thinking about.

So it has been and is a pleasure doing bizness wit you guys (my best Chicagoan accent) ...

    LOL!!!

Damnit. Okay I'm practicing right now. Youse guys?

I can do this ... I've listened to enough words pronounced by a seriously disturbed Chicagoan (Yes, your first guess was the right one, I am referring to Bww) and I think I can do this.

Ha, what's scary about the game threads? When they existed it was mostly blasting the shit out of this team. You should see what we're like in person during some of these losses (before the apathy set in).

Conratulations on your son getting D1 Scholarships. Did he get drafted out of high school? None of the kids that I coached went to the schools that you mentioned although a kid who played for the high school that I used to coach at went to TCU. He was about a 6'6" left hander and had the biggest feet that I have ever seen:) I understand that he did very well his freshman and sophomore years and turned down about $1.5M as a first rounder out of high school. I know that TCU has a great program.

Anyway, great post and I wish you and your son great luck.
