Great shot. After the deak, he had to lift the puck over the d-man on the ice and pick the far corner. That was a thing of beauty.
Emery was looking low on that goal, never expecting top corner.. well played by Horton. It took a little while but I think Johanson is for real now.. he's got some confidence
Of course we lose the game I end up getting to go to. Bah. Oh well time to start another streak! We got games in hand on those around and above us! *BRAVO*
i was trying to get to Uniondale for that Pens-SI game, but was too busy. i was eyeballing a couple of seats in VIP123 for $52 each on StubHub. good deal, but i just couldn't get 'er done.
Jackets have lower bowl student seats for $25 so I grabbed some. I would not pay $60 otherwise for the good seats though. Tv looks better than half the seats in that place
those prices sound like a dream. going to a Broonz game means filling Mr Burns pockets w/ an absurd amount of cash.
One of the perks of being a Jackets fan :-/ To get a seat that isnt behind a goal is like $90 at the cheapest. I can't see how that's worth it. I'm sure its much worse at other arenas.
A look at the box score for last night's CBJ-SJ would lead many to conclude that this game was not close, (Columbus was outshot 21:47). I was at the game and I was extremely impressed by this club. SJ had a significant amount of PP time, and Columbus had a goal waved off. While I do not dispute the decision to disallow the goal, it just shows that this game was very close. In fact, Columbus really was the better team for stretches. The Blue Jackets have arrived as a legitimate team; they are no longer a bumbling expansion team. They do have four Russian Olympians, so there are still some issues that need to be worked out. I was anxious to see Nick Foligno play - I was, after all, wearing his brother's Sabres sweater - and now I want him (home) in Buffalo more than ever. He has a much different game compared to Marcus, and he can set up a play like few I've seen. I always look for a "surprise" player, and Matt Calvert jumped out. He's not very big, but he was always around the puck and he came close to a breakaway SH goal. He, and his nifty puck handling skills, would look very good in blue and maize. Otherwise, I saw far fewer away-team jerseys in SJ compared to what I am accustomed to seeing. It appears as though the team's fans do not travel well, but I became a fan last night.
i like Nick Foligno too. he's a consistent point getter for my fantasy team too. i'm watching Calvert as well. he is a great set-up man with blazing speed and he hustles all the time. good observations. i want CLB to rise up and be competitive... sort of my underdog pull team. plus, i really like BJs... just ask my wife.
I had a nice little pregame moment with Corey Tropp. He looked up and gave a double look at the guy wearing a Sabres sweater. We both shared smiles; it was special. The saddest loss all season for Buffalo was when Tropp was a waiver claim by Columbus. I like his game, too, and hope that he may consider coming back to Buffalo one day. "Fast" is the most apt adjective for Calvert.
I saw this message on a Sabres site, and thought I'd pass it along: http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showthread.php?t=1608913
Gabby moved. I don't know anything again Matt Frattin and a conditional pick. I suppose that's good enough for a guy past him prime. We weren't gonna resign him anyways.
Frattin is a decent player Brett, really heavy shot. Solid pick imo for an underwhelming UFA Gaborik.
I'm huge on picks too. I feel like we got really good value for someone we aren't keeping and wasn't performing for us. I mean, Boone Jenner is a 2nd round pick :-X
I wonder what Gaborik's options will be this summer. All depends on his performance in LA i guess. did you hear any rumors about Columbus moving Jack Johnson at the deadline?
