Getting a place behind an NHL bench is a pretty good gig if you can get one. And, wonder of wonders, Teddy Nolan has managed to earn one from the Sabres. That's a classic good-news bad-news situation.

No one is expecting anything of the team next year so the pressure will not be on him. He may actually - as he is wont to do - get more out of this team than anyone could reasonably expect. I think it will get real interesting in the year or two to follow when the Sabres will not be composed (seemingly) exclusively of teenagers, and when they have one or two top overall picks on the ice.

My personal expectation is by then the team will require a change as Teddy's too mercurial to have any real staying power.

Good stuff, cracked me up. Love hate, comes to mind. I dont like hardly any of his suits, and I dont always agree with him, but he is and has been a staple in my hockey life for many years. He's one of a kind, and a lot of folks are thankful for that. Its a brand, and a business, which drives his style...I think he learned that a long time ago, found himself an angle for something and ran with it.

 

I used to wear out my Rock Em Sock Em hockey VHS tapes. I absolutely loved them.

 

Grapes was dressed like a zebra tonight, beats the roses.

 

First thoughts I had was, he was on a chain gang or just stepped off a prison ship. You cant see it, but he probably had a ball and chain on his leg.

Now that was cool. I never heard, let alone seen that tune before. I really enjoy watching vintage stuff like that, its very interesting and kinda captivates, I couldnt look away. Wasnt bad on the ears at all either. I think some of the interest stems from the fact that era took place when I was a kid and a lot of changes and evolution in music and life was underway. Its a trip to look back and sorta live in the past for a moment. Thanks for that.

 

Poor Janis, she got all the luck with her voice, and none with her looks, which ended up causing so much trouble in her short life.

 

unfortunately, even Ozzy is more attractive than Janice. i agree, sheriff, i'm not a big Janice fan either. a little piece of my heart was probably her best song, all the elements just came together superbly in that one.

 

Bobby McGee, Mercedes Benz...she could get a few tunes out there that were cool.

I thought that was Ozzy and Janis was playing the guitar...my bad.
