Maybe NBC should hire him to go along with Milbury and Mcguire. They could be called the 3 stooges???
speaking of HNIC, i'm pissed. i moved my old TV antenna to the top of the garage. that didn't do jack, so i borrowed an antenna preamp from a friends who had gotten it, only to discover it didn't help them. lo and behold, my TV goes from seeing 6 digital channels to seeing 41 digital and one analog channel. and one of those digital channels is 9.1 - CBET Windsor - a CBC station. too bad the bastards lost the contract. now that i can watch it, i won't be able to see any HOCKEY on it. it probably wouldn't matter too much, as i'll bet it will only come in late at night, and then only when the weather's right - but still... *WALL*
Well, all your work saved me a bunch of work and some cash. I hadnt realized they (CBET) lost the contract. I was worried about getting an antenna up to specifically target them. I still might put something up outside, but not as rushed or concerned since I wont be able to get HNIC. Its nice to know those preamps work. Ive considered one of those too. I'm not real crazy about putting up anymore outdoor antenna's, at least not a large one at any significant hight. Looks like those streams are really going to come in handy this NHL season.
ok, just performed another test, wanted to be sure i hadn't done something stupid like autoprogram without it when the conditions were as bad as possible, and then with it in perfect conditions. so i tried rescanning, and got 28. then i killed the preamp, and got ZERO. re-enabled it, and got 24, i guess conditions are going downhill. but let me remind u, your mileage may vary. this little gadget failed to make any improvement in 2 other widely separated locations. i wonder if its success is so dramatic here because of some nuance of the location relative to the transmitters, or if it's more about the close to 200 feet of coax between my TV and the antenna. now that i know this setup works, i'll bury the cable - only half of it's buried atm, i've got a big chunk on the ground between the garage and where my DirecTV dish was, i'm connecting thru those already buried lines to the house, and i'll be able to shorten it a bit. i don't think i need thirty feet of service loop on it
I think you just happen to have the antenna in a premium place. They seem so touchy. Im just using indoor rabbit ears and every time I ran the scan for signals, I picked up a couple more or lost one. At first I didnt think the box worked, so I moved the antenna by just a couple of feet and a bunch of signals came in. What ever you do, dont move your antenna, lol. Some 24 to 28 signals is quite impressive to me. Im only getting around 12, iirc. I would also think the less coax you use the better, but Im not positive. Im going to have fun experimenting with this. If I can tap into the Detroit and Windsor markets, that would be cool...I would like to have more options in the sub-channel spectrum.
...and the CBC doesnt mind that. Love him or hate him, just tune in. I have a friend in Pittsburgh that say's there's this guy that walks around in an 'I love cherry' t-shirt and on the back of it, it says igloofn68.
Rogers announced their new on-air team. http://www.mediacastermagazine.com/news/rogers-names-on-air-team-for-nhl-coverage/1003230288/?&er=NA
Excellent! Some good people there. I was a bit worried when I began reading, but I am impressed and relieved to see a fine collection of broadcasters, young and old. Good stuff.
*THUMBSUP* This guy makes a lot of sense, nylander looked good in the pre-season, but they really needed a big player that could score like ritchie.
I don't know which way to take that Will? Theres 2 ways you could define that and I won't mention the 2nd one on a Family Forum like MudnCleats, haha
You pretty much can say what you want in these parts and the censors do the work. ...and by 'Cherry', I meant, Donald S. Cherry.
Bell vs Rogers Bell accuses Rogers of skirting CRTC rules with NHL GamePlus app Lennie Wars... already? That didnt take long. Is this a case of two monopolizing company's trying to keep the other from monopolizing? A little friendly competition may become more interesting.
