They start throwing the ball downfield when they need to gain 5-10 yards for a FG attempt. Smart coaching.
Honestly the hate he is getting in the media pisses me off. He has a long way to go, but this kid has pure magic, and when it matters too. We are going to fucking ruin him and it is killing me. That entire end of game sequence was shockingly bad. I honestly thought Eberflus snuck back onto the sidelines somehow. The guys on the post game, chanting, "SELL THE TEAM". Good job guys.
That final drive was so badly run it became satirical. You intentionally run 40secs off the clock at about 1.50, essentially killing the chance to win the game outright in regulation. You've got a great kicker but one with a short leg and you know all this, so why the FUCK are you calling 2 deepshots on 2nd & 3rd down from the 40?! And of course like it was written in stone, Caleb's no-INT streak is ended by a desperation throw up with pressure right in his face at the end of the game. Fuck this entire team so hard.
Bears fans are honestly the stupidest and a big reason why this team is never getting sold. The losing streak is endless, the season beyond lost, the team beyond broken and you motherfuckers pack the joint out instead of sending a message. AND you proceed to sit there the entire game still packing the joint out with barely a boo the entire time. Way to tell ownership how content you are with this shit. You fucks.
Oh and while im at it, F these WRs. All of them. One of em has an attitude like an unflushed toilet half the time and 2 of em drop so many balls they should be docked paychecks. So so bad. Nothing the OL has done this season has surprised me, i knew they'd be the worst unit. But most disappointing? WRs and its not even close.
Facts, which is why I post serious thoughts only here. We’re the last bastion of competent fans. Ccs, scout, Reddit, and Twitter have reduced fans to a cesspool of mouthbreathing retards who think real life is like madden. And honestly, sometimes it just feels like my interest in being a fan is like folks on the titanic, who are slowly approaching and sinking into icy waters till no more between the bears sucking at life and football. Gambling/odds being thrown in my face from all directions doesn’t help. It’s why clowns like Adam Rank can say “the next coach of the bears is Kyle Shanahan,” face no repercussions when John Lynch tells the media ‘I don’t know why people are saying that, Kyle’s not going anywhere,’ yet fans still think it’s coming. With Poles, I suspected his draft strategies were to satiate the pallets of morons and not do what’s in best interest to the team. Last off-season felt like the proof. Everybody screamed for Rome or trading up for Marv Jr, which it was reported Poles tried to do. The OL which was bottom 5 a year ago got Coleman Shelton and a project, preinjured rookie from Yale and that was good enough to the masses. Right now, there are tons of the same people starting up again. Fuck the OL. The bears need the RB Jeanty from Boise State! The bears should trade down till the end of the 1st because there’s great value at WR if you let Keenan go! They should trade up for a guy likely going in the top 3 (the DT Graham from Michigan)! Then a whole bunch of excuses. The OL from LSU has short arms. The guy from Texas had 1 bad rep all year against Georgia edge Mykell Williams—who is also going top 10–forget how he got locked down for Texas’ remaining 55+ offensive plays—one embarrassing play disqualifies the Texas OT from going at 9. The OG from Bama? Can’t draft a guard at 9, he’s not Quentin Nelson. Cant have a good OL—even though there are 0 good ones on the present roster—he needs to be great! Then the OL is an afterthought while chasing stupid projects because there isn’t elite talent falling to the bears’ laps. I missed when fans worshipped the OL. Made posters, gave nicknames, and treated the 85 guys like rockstars. Which happens to be the last time this team truly had an elite OL. Now, they can win in madden with guys on the OL ranked terrible, salary cap turned off, and the settings on ‘easy’ so the bears should be able to do that now in real life because Chad the douche fan heard it from barstool. Management coddles the idiots who give them money. And then they make more money on top of it while not being inclined to do anything better.
It was a work of art. My son before the game said, "why are you going to watch the Bears find a new epic way to lose" and also "I'm cheering for the Seahawks dad". This is what I get for watching a game again. In the Trestman years, it was disgusting how the team had given up. Here the team has only half given up, but the decisions are straight shocking. And this is a young core of a rebuild that's supposed to be building blocks for the future, infested with a shit culture. Zero chance I watch the Packers whoop the shit out of them next week. While I agree on our fanbase, the boo birds were out in *force* last night. They were booing before Caleb even took his first snap. I thought it was comical when Al Michaels said, "the boo birds haven't been TOO bad today". Through the rage of the final moments there was a hail of boos. I mean they were going to punt with 3 minutes left! Burning 40 seconds again at end of game. There are non-idiots out there beating the o-line drum, but goddamn you guys are right there are so many defenders. There were guys early this season throwing stats at me on how the oline wasn't really that bad. My favorite was Hoge recently said something along the lines of going with Olin Kruetz in the front office would be a good idea. This is a guy who beat the drum for that dude who is so terrible at Center I cannot believe I have already forgotten his name (and I am HAPPY to forget, don't remind me). Poles strategy was glitz and glamour. But the game is won and lost in the trenches. We all know this, and we also know they didn't address it. This is the result, combined with a shockingly bad set of coaches.
