Perhaps you could elaborate on how I don't understand field discipline?

What does, "He could ball" mean?

  7. BearsWillWin Drunk (Probably) Patreon Champion Manager Bears Blackhawks Cubs

It's Ebonics for he's good at playing the game.

    Which....based on evidence....he isn't.

Yeah, that's discipline. It's also called instincts. And football IQ.

And on of it....he's displayed zero aptitude or ability.

But again.....you said I can't "comprehend" field discipline. So please....elaborate on how that is true if I diagnosed Bostic's exact problems.

I'm sure I typed too many words and didn't use slang or texting language or any hashtags so most of this went straight over your head.

    Ohhh ...

Well that's not what I assumed.

Phew. So glad I didn't type what I thought it was.

    Thanks Bww :)

This very well could be one of the best threads here in a while.

    But...

I really want to focus on this field discipline concept.

Okay so I'm thinking about this. The statement, 'He could ball' gives the supposition that if Bostic did something different he 'would' (which is a definitive) ball as opposed to 'could' ball.

If you mean a physical ability or even possibility, then "could" is appropriate. If the meaning is more of a logical consequence, then "would" is better.

The word, 'could' is derived from the verb, 'can' while the word, 'would' is derived from the verb, 'will'.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

I sure he would, if he could, but he can't.
Now if he could, he should, but he won't.
    Pure and simple
    Bostic has sucked!

  16. the comment that started this linguistic silliness:

can means "is able to". i have no issues with someone assessing a player's abilities, as opposed to them seeing the future.

    Gawd this is so frustrating!

Bostic runs really fast and hits really hard when the ball carrier has as much shiftiness as a tackling dummy.

He gets a 1 season get out of jail free card with me seeing that the only professional guidance he has received came from the absolute dumbest defensive coordinator ever to roam the sidelines of any team from the pee-wee level up.

I won't be shocked if he is vastly improved just from having that fucktard removed from his life.

Then again, I won't be surprised if he looks like he's trying to ice skate up hill for 16 more.

if u watched bostic in college u know he can play. was the lack of discipline on him or tucker. if u knew that was the issue why disagree only to say the same shit. started 8 games 58 tackles in 2014. #patience
