I expected the Canes to look more like an NHL team once, well, once they started getting their NHL team back from IR. It would seem to be a herculean feat, however, for them to make the playoffs this year. Given the strength of this draft, would it make sense for them to mail it in for the rest of the season? In the end, I think they're too good - and perhaps too proud - to finish in the bottom two. Still I wonder, given the way the cards have been dealt to the Canes this year, if they'd be better off having one real stinking season.
Eric Staal happy to stick with left wing to play alongside brother Jordan Thought you may find this interesting, Mikeyfan.

It's a good idea for any team in NC to have a Mich. Jordan on the roster. Is he tall? Is he even American? Don't matter 'caiuse they got their Jordan.
With Cam's playoff record I am hoping the Canes hold on to him especially if it appears the Canes will remain in the hunt until the end.
The Hurricanes Now have more games played than the Hartford Whalers played in the NHL. The Canes have 78 Playoff games to the Whalers' 49 This is the 18th season for the franchise in Carolina, matching the amount of seasons played in Hartford.
Saw the Whale play a ton of games. Have never seen a Canes home game. That's gotta change. Of course they won't like me there on Tobacco Road since I will be wearing my Sabres sweater.
By "ours" do you mean the Las Vegas Black Knights? I think you're going to have to wait at least a year for the league to approve the relocation.
I do like what Francis is doing there. One more year of tank command and I think they're ready to emerge from the dumpster, although that division looks very vulnerable in 17'. Players, staff, Karmanos, crazy pols messing up NHL business,..so much to watch in CAR the next 18 months.
