Now that we broke free from Canadian tyranny can everyone agree to give Pickett the rest of the season to see what he can do without the albatross of a OC around his neck? We aren’t going to win a SB unless Pickett can play a lot better than he has and the other two Quarterbacks are no where near good enough to win a SB so let’s just ride this ship together and see what happens. if we are going to change QBs it would have to be in the off season anyway
Bites, I see your point but guess what else Josh didn’t do this week. He didn’t turn the ball over! It’s not like the offense wasn’t moving the ball. The OC doesn’t tell him to go out there and tell him to give the other team a few more possessions. The Bills problem was him throwing INT’s and fumbling.
The one thing I would like to see an improvement on right away is using the middle of the field, if it’s still not going to be done then it was Kenny not being comfortable throwing in the middle, and not Canada. If that is the case then he needs to go. I’m giving him 3 games to do this. Don’t care if he throws INT’s you can’t live in fear.
From, PFT We know Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada is out. We don’t know with any real certainty who fired him. Coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that the decision was “mine and mine alone.” However, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported the move this morning like this: “Steelers president Art Rooney II has fired offensive coordinator Matt Canada, per team sources.” Dulac also said this in his story at the newspaper’s website: “The decision came after a meeting with team president Art Rooney II, who grew weary of seeing the Steelers average just 16.1 points in 10 games and watching Pickett, last year’s No. 1 draft pick, struggle the past three games.” So it sounds as if, at a minimum, the owner was involved in the decision. Or, possibly, he let it be known to Tomlin that the preferred decision entailed moving on from Canada. Rooney quietly and subtly has exercised plenty of influence over the decisions made in Pittsburgh, at every layer and level of the organization. The franchise’s success under his stewardship makes that acceptable. And many thought it was unacceptable to keep Canada in place as long as he was. While it remains to be seen whether the post-Canada offense is any better, Steelers fans generally are happy that Canada is gone. If the offense doesn’t improve, however, someone else will quickly become the focal point of the wrath of Steelers Nation.
Matt Canada fired: Cam Heyward says offense 'has to take hold of this' after Steelers part with OC I really like Cam Heyward's perspective on this.
Which Lombardi the former GM for the Jets? He’s a Steeler hater and he eats Asparagus just so he can poop green . Jets suck as does their current and former coaches & GM’s. The Jets haven’t been relavent for 6 decades. And yes we submarined your happy asses at pick 14. Deal with it , Jones is gonna be a stud.
I really hope Pickett gets it straightened out with Canada gone, because if we have to draft another Quarterback that will be another two years before we can think about a SB again. Maybe we should hire Pickett’s personal QB coach for the rest of this season just to try and get the most out of Kenny.
Watching the Commanders/Cowboys game. Have to say not impressed with the offensive play calling from the Commanders. Clearly they have OL issues, but the play calling has been poor. Upgrade over Canada for sure but not convinced EB would be a sure fire success either.
I was thinking the same thinking the same thing. One note here. Howell has thrived in EB's play calling. Dallas D is a juggernaut, and they gave no time to Howell who was running for his life. Rivera will be getting the boot on Black Monday. Embarassing loss on National TV was the nail in the coffin. Back to Bienemy, he was limited in play calling once the score became lopsided.
