BUF is not winning much, but I am very encouraged with the SOG stats for this year. Last season it was routine to see the Sabres outshot 2:1 or worse. Once lines start to gel they should pot the puck with more alacrity.
Im going to watch and be rooting for the Sabres tonight. I sure hope they can whip those Habs. I think it will be a good game.
I will be rooting for them to win too. But, I am not optimistic; the team will need a lot of time playing with each other before they get into a good rhythm. Beating the Habs seems a bit beyond their reach right now.
But the Habs will lose a game and im hoping it starts tonight. If Montreal takes Buffalo lightly, which im hoping they do, the Sabres will hand them their hats.
Well they will lose a few between now and April, that's for sure. They may even drop one or two against Buffalo. The problem, as I see it, is the Sabres are not going to be taken lightly by anyone. With the additions they've made, the energy level is always going to be high in Buffalo, and a good team like Montreal will respond by playing their own game. Eventually the much improved offense will start banging the biscuit into the twine, but they're too much of a work-in-progress right now IMO. I will say that it helps considerably that Price is not going to be in goal as the Habs go with their rookie. Ah, there you've done it, you've talked me into a Sabres win tonight.
Lulz, when i sold you that pic of my wife you promised to not post it on the web... shame on you!!!11!!!
Well, it started out really good. I was impressed with the Sabres ability to hang tough, but they (Habs) just out worked them later in the game. Least you got dumped by the hottest team in the NHL which is off to an historical start. I know thats not really comforting and it down right sux as a buffalo fan, but they (Sabres) are an exciting team to watch play. When do you get your #1 goalie back?
The Sabres have the record (together with TOR from way back) for the best start ever at 10-0. Although I think three of them were s/o's. I respect Montreal, but I do not want to share the record. It sucks. Uhhhm, any think I can add? Oh ... it sucks. I think Lehner is out until December. It's possible that I'll see him in NAS on 11/28. I understand TM's reluctance to trade for a G, but I'm concerned that the team could dig quite a hole. It's not like his injury is going to make the difference for making the playoffs. I just want them to find their rhythm and identity. The more they play together the better.
No word on the extent of Kane's injury. It may not be as bad as it first looked. Then again, maybe it is. Kane, Lehner, and Bogasian. This team is not deep enough* to withstand more injuries. (* Yeah, I'm being understated.)
Another yikes Eich beauty! I love it that Dan has our boys shooting the puck with much more alacrity than what we saw under Ted. It won't go in the basket if you don't direct it in that direction. Lost 4-3 in PIT, but last year's approach would have been a 7-1 shellacking; close to 60 SOG & much improved possession stats has a way of making a team look better. Real low PDO in many games this season. Once this team gels, (that'll take some time), the Sabres are going to win more often. Oh, and our boy Pysyk has arrived in the NHL, and McCabe appears to be ahead of schedule. Young Linus ("lean' us") looks like he has a shot at becoming an NHL netminder. Now, if we could find a way to play the hockey team from Philadelphia every night...
that was nice, Medvedev still trying to figure out what happened there. https://vine.co/v/e3mz3nldtBE throw SJ in there too and you'll finish in 1st place no problem.
If I do say so myself, I'm happy with that "yikes Eich beauty". That would look good on a teeshirt, I think. BTW, the Sabres are auctioning game-worn pregame sweaters that they wore for warm ups. They're the purple/lilac Fight Cancer specials. I am not going to go crazy bidding, but piss-yellow needs to be put to bed. Shockingly, the NHL shop has run out of the standard home blue in my size. I may show up on Feb. 6 in something real spechul.
Matt - the one they let get away - Moulson, and Samson - the Reinhart they wish they had drafted - both scored, and Buffalo wins for the first time ever in Brooklyn, NY. Up yours!, Garth.
That was fairly cool, Matty. I think they had about zero impact on reducing drug use, but some of those Sabres could carry a tune. I think I saw Lindy Ruff vocalizing. Definitely cool to see Marcus' & Nick's dad, Mike.
