...and NYC has 18 of the 101 Best Burgers in America. http://www.thedailymeal.com/101-best-burgers-america Of course, this list is 100% subjective.
ima give a shout out to the makers of one of my favorite burgers ever, who are likely long gone now. ages ago, there was a small chain, with a handful of places in the tulsa area at least, called goldie's. the places were diner-style, a few small tables and a long counter with seating. there was nothing fancy about the burgers, and they'd likely never make a national list. they weren't served with billions of exotic toppings like poblano peppers roasted over the cremation fire of 14 year old virgins. they were just burgers like u or your friends would make in the backyard, with one notable difference. i dunno how, but they just tasted better. i hope they still exist, it would be a shame if they were gone.
Eich is going to be a hockey-team-from-Boston killer for many seasons. The video cannot be attached directly so all I could do was link to the entire report. The video is 1:37, but the key thing is Eichel's incredible assist. http://www.diebytheblade.com/2015/9/15/9329279/sabres-beat-bruins-3-2-eichel-ot-winner
Patrick Kane could* always be counted to have a great game when the Hawks were playing the Sabres. I expect Jack Eichel will be similarly motivated every time Buffalo plays Boston. This should fuel the already strong rivalry. (* "could" not "can"; for now we probably should express Kane's hockey exploits in the past-tense.)
Your Sabres are looking much stronger... good luck this season. Im looking forward to seeing the new and definitely improved Buffalo team.
How did your summer go? The Sabres had a pretty good one; consider this after-and-before list. Who's In: Jack Eichel Ryan O'Reilly Evander Kane Sam Reinhart Cody Franson Robin Lehner Jamie McGinn Carlo Coliacovo Matt Donovan David Legwand Dan Bylsma Russ Brandon Who's Out: Nikita Zadorov Mikhail Grigorenko Cody Hodgson Andre Benoit Andrej Meszaros Tyson Strachan Zac Dalpe Anders Lindback Ted Nolan Ted Black Joe Batista
i heard pierre on the radio this morning, he's a kane supporter, he thinks he could hit the 40 goal mark.
The first line could be Kane-ROR-Ennis. With Moulson-Eich-Girgensons on the second. The third line will be better than their first was last season. Kane is a pure goal scorer, without too much more asked of him. He has scored 30 several times, so if he stays healthy I think 40 is realistic. ROR is why this team will be dramatically better this year. He takes the heat off the other elite talent to just focus on what their talent and age allows. Kane's talent is scoring goals, so go do that. Eich's talent is to be superlative at everything - but not at 18 yrs. old - so go at it Jack, but without the heat this one season. Girgensons and possibly Larsson will be kicked from C to W, but it is nice to have so many guys that can play the pivot. If Samson Reinhart isn't ready - fine, play Legwand at 3 or 4C. Want to give the teenagers some experience on the top six? Move ROR to the wing. Dan Bylsma is going to have a blast coaching this crew.
Im not so sure that your Evander Kane numbers are on Dan. He's hit 30 once and other than that season he's never even had 20.
Matty, the problem with L4S is that it can lull you into sloppiness. "Let someone else do the fact-checking." Nonetheless, my basic premise still stands, IMO. E. Kane has never had a line like he'll have in Buffalo and he's never been granted the license to play his game. I think that is TM's and DB's intent, and that will be very liberating for Evader. The Sabres are going to one of the most fun teams in the NHL this season. They are dramatically better, yet have no pressure since there are no (reasonable) expectations for success. In that respect, they'll resemble playing on the pond. It'll all be about getting to know each other and the system. Kane could very well pot 40 if he stays healthy. I know he's relieved to be out of that provincial cesspool in WPG.
Respectfully I disagree Dan. Phil Kessel has never even had 40. in terms of goal scoring capability Evander Kane isn't anywhere near that level. As an overall player I could see an argument of E. Kane over Kessel but just in terms of scoring, Kessel everyday. As you may recall I am an Evander Kane supporter to boot. only Ovechkin, Stamkos and Nash reached 40 last year and only a few other players even sniffed it. My disagreement w/ your assertion is not only based on me not believing that Evander Kane is capable of that number but even more condemning is that his line mates aren't anywhere near capable of helping him put up those kinds of numbers. Ryan O'Reilly is a 2nd line center that has never even eclipsed 40 assists. He's never had a line mate net 30 goals even and he's played w/ some really talented players in Colorado while having less pressure on him than he'll have next year. Tyler Ennis is a nice little player but certainly less than ideal in a top line role. Being a clear cut top minute player will provide different opportunies for these guys but it also means that they'll be keyed on by the opponent. all that said, I agree that Buffalo will be one of the more exciting teams this season and collectively I think NHL fans will be pulling for them.
When Kane did score 30, he was shooting all the time, recklessly and it was causing more problems than anything. He spent so many shifts with Burmistrov, young Scheifele, Jokinen, etc. the last few years that I agree about Dan's point that Kane will likely have better offensive skilled linemates than he ever has. Given the health problems, and upcoming roller coaster ride for a young team, I find it very difficult to project any 30 goal scorer for Buffalo coming off of last year, and I wouldn't put Kane on the list. There were only 15 30 goal scorers last year in the entire league. Only 13 teams had one. A few made or missed the list because of fluky shooting%. It will be fun to watch Buffalo next year.
