Regardless of whether the Bills finish the 2020 season as the No. 2 seed or the No. 3 seed in the AFC, we know that they’ll be hosting a playoff game during the wild-card round. We still don’t know whether Bills fans will be attending the game. But we could know as soon as today. Via WGRZ.com, Erie County executive Mark Poloncarz recently said that a decision needs to be made this week, preferably by Wednesday. The team has proposed 6,700 fans; a final decision will come from New York authorities. On Monday, Governor Andrew Cuomo said that conversations between the team and the State Department of Health are ongoing. A major factor in the final decision-making process continues to be the COVID-19 infection rate within the broader Buffalo community. Last week, Poloncarz bristled at Bills-related questions while announcing another 60 virus-related deaths, telling reporters and fans, “Get your priorities straight.” “If we can get fans in the stadium, great, but our priority should be on reducing the number of cases and deaths in our communities. I announced 60 people died unfortunately in the last few days and most of the questions have been about the Bills,” Poloncarz said at the time. The questions will continue until an answer is provided. With the wild-card round only 10 days away, and answer is needed soon. NBC
If the Steelers and bills both win their wc game then we will play each other in the division rd @ the stadium of the team with the 2 seed.
The Bills will have 6,700 fans in attendance when they host a first-round playoff game next weekend. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo confirmed today that the Bills will be allowed fans who are wearing masks and test negative before the game. He also said there will be contact tracing after the game, and that the game will serve as a pilot program for how the state can smartly and safely reopen large events and other businesses. “A football playoff game is outdoors, which is a much better situation from COVID spread,” Cuomo said. “We believe we are the first state in the nation to run this kind of pilot. We think it can be very instructive to us going forward.” Cuomo thanked the Bills and the NFL for working with the state on the matter. And he urged fans at the playoff opener next weekend to act responsibly. “For all the Bills fans, please, everyone, take these measures seriously,” Cuomo said. “The numbers are down. We want to keep them down.” NBC
This is really cool for the Bills and their fans! It will create a Playoff atmosphere... waaaaaaaaay better than an empty stadium. Its even more enjoyable to watch and I can imagine as a player it will pump them Bills up.
With guys that I didn’t even remember were on the team, the Buffalo Bills seem to be scoring at will against the football team from Miami. The score is something like 490 - 1.3 in the fourth.
Bills expected to discuss massive extension with QB Josh Allen in offseason Josh Allen's breakout season makes the Bills picking up the fifth-year option on his rookie contract in the spring a formality. So might be a new contract. The real question is, for how much? The Buffalo brass is expected to approach Allen's representation about a massive contract extension in the spring or summer that could make him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks, if not the highest, in the league, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday. He looked like he belongs in that class in Year 3. The über-athletic Allen just became the first QB in NFL history to throw for 4,500 yards and 35 touchdowns while running for five touchdowns. That earned him a place on the All-Pro second-team, a momentous honor given that first-teamer Aaron Rodgers and fellow second-teamer Patrick Mahomes figure to finish first and second, respectively, in MVP voting. The Bills thus plan to be proactive about paying Allen like them. Mahomes was extended last summer for 10 years and $45 million per season, tops in the NFL. Deshaun Watson, who was extended for four years soon after, is second in average annual value at $39 million. Where Allen and Buffalo ultimately land will in part be determined by next year's salary cap, Rapoport added. The 24-year-old QB can increase his leverage Saturday versus the Colts as the Bills aim for their first playoff win in 25 years. A deep postseason run could have them reaching even deeper into their pockets for their franchise QB. NFL.com
Anything less than 10 years and $450MM would be a big win. A win for the Bills. I know that Allen wants to stay in Buffalo. They’ll be able to get this done.
What a game this has been. Watching the Bills can't be good for the heart. Their rollercoaster offense just gives me anxiety with every snap. Is Allen going to get sacked and fumble it, or throw a 30 yarder inches from the sideline while sprinting away from defenders? Every play, you never know. Waiting on the call on the catch / fumble now. Game on the line. It's been a fantastic watch.
Congrats @KilkennyDan. Now I have another team to root for in the next round of playoffs if my Browns don't make it.
Congrats Dan............Jezz that was a nail biter in the 4th Q.........Phillip Rivers is a Dinosaur but still a good QB.
