I accidently posted this on the main NFL thread, but was intending to post it here. This one turned out to be pretty impressive trade for Dorsey. The deal will mark the MOST compensation received in a RB trade since the Browns unloaded Trent Richardson on Indy for a first rounder....

When the Cleveland Browns traded running back Duke Johnson to the Houston Texans in August for a 2020 fourth-round draft pick, there was a condition attached to the pick that could make it a third-rounder.

That condition will be met Sunday when Houston plays against the Baltimore Ravens, a league source tells ESPN.

The fourth-round pick that Houston traded to Cleveland becomes a third if and when Johnson is active for a 10th game this season, which he will be on Sunday afternoon.

Johnson has played in each of Houston's nine games this season and has been a productive addition to the Texans' offense, rushing for 287 yards and averaging 5.3 yards per carry while also hauling in 22 receptions for 228 yards.

Sheldon Richardson ‘very surprised’ Mason Rudolph not suspended; says Myles Garrett went ‘overboard’ but defended himself

    https://www.cleveland.com/browns/20...rett-went-overboard-but-defended-himself.html

...After reading that, it makes me think, too bad Rudolph didn't mix it up with Richardson instead of Garrett. Oh well....I do expect the NFL to at least give Garrett a definite amount of games on his appeal tomorrow. I fear it'll be the remainder of this season +1 next season, just to keep everyone talking about it, and as a reminder for others to never even think about doing anything like that.

Flex for Week 13 on Sunday, Dec 1: The NFL moved #Raiders at #Chiefs from 1 pm to 4:25 PM ET on CBS. #Browns at #Steelers moves from 4:25 PM ET on CBS to 1 PM ET on CBS.

.....aaaand now they are gonna punish both teams some more. That sucks. I'm sure a case can be made for the Chiefs game that replaced it, but this still feels like a spanking from Roger.

Don't quite understand how that change is punishment. All it does is ensure these goons only get televised in their local market.

A non issue to me, but yeah I think Godel did in part as taking away the spotlight.

It might be a "non-issue" to some, but it realy is a smack in the face. If you don't understand why, i'm sorry.

    It's a non-issue to me, as well.

It might not be an issue for some individual fans watching on Sunday, but it absolutely IS an issue for the franchise we love. It's the NFL saying, "We don't want you in our marquee time slot that you were scheduled for on national TV. So instead we're going to put you back in the regional coverage 1pm game, where your franchise has been locked into obscurity for the last two decades"... I'm certain Jimmy and Dee see it as an issue, as well as the majority of fans. Nobody likes to take the backseat.

Considering what occured, in prime time, in front of a national TV audience the last time these two teams played each other, moving this game to 1:00 PM regional only time slot was probably the prudent thing for the NFL to do. Don't like it? Blame the players involved - not the NFL.

    Continuing this thought . . .

Keep in mind, the NFL doesn't market itself to people who already tune in. They market themselves to people who, for whatever reason, don't tune in. That's one of the reasons they take such a hard stand on domestic violence, rape charges (allegations), child abuse, etc. - as they should. It's no different than Ford, GM and Chysler marketing themselves to people who drive imported cars or McDonalds marketing themselves to people who go to Burger King, Wendy's or any other fast food chain.

When you hear the phrase "Protect the Shield" - it really means protect the brand. One way of doing this is to minimize potential bad publicity.

It's a non-issue to me as well, but I do understand why it is a smack in the face. I agree with you TD... A deserved smack though, imho. (3) suspensions came out of one play from these two teams, just two weeks ago. While it may be a "non-issue" to nearly everyone...I would say the league did this not as punishment, but to save face to some extent. They did this on national television on thursday, which would make the second game a large attraction in the National television slot. I don't think ANYONE knows how both teams are going to react to the incident, as well as public comments made since then. I only hope our Browns have enough common sense to stay professional and move on COMPLETELY from that night. It was embarrassing enough, I don't need any more

I agree Lyman. I'm not saying it was wrong for the NFL to switch it to a 1pm game. I'm just noting that this is more fallout from Myles Garrett's moment of stupidity. It sucks for the fans that wanted to see that rematch under the bright lights of a national TV game, but it's certainly not surprising. You reap what you sow.

I agree with @TopDawg that's it's more a punishment than anything else. That game would sell in primetime. You're talking about two teams with diehard fanbases who'll tune in from nearly anywhere. You've got the WWE element now because of last Thursday's game -- like it or not, that's going to drive up ratings. It's not "giving the league" a black eye.

If Robert Kraft and Tyreek Hill have seen zero in the way of punishment for what they've done and how deeply impactful that should be to "the shield", you can bet a late-game melee isn't causing anyone discomfort.

    Good points.

FWIW, I do believe if they had left the Browns/Steelers rematch in the 4:30 time slot, it likely would have set viewership records. Besides perhaps Mason Rudolph's mother, who wouldn't want to tune in to see what happens in this heated rematch?

Did people not want to see the rematch after Tyson bit Holyfield's ear off? Of course they did....If anything, Tyson's unsportsmanlike act increased interest.

The NFL isn't about the ratings on this one. This is punishment.

And, because they're diehard fans, they will still tune in regardless of kickoff time.

Sorry, maybe I didn't articulate my point on this well enough...

The diehards will watch it any time, any day. What you're doing is punishing them and the casual viewer who would have tuned in given the flair around the match-up but now can't/won't. They're hurting themselves taking away ratings to send a message but - like my earlier post I suppose - the point won't land.

    Does that make sense?
