That's odd. You were quoting me. Multiple times.

Wait...what??? He wasn't triggered when he ripped the helmet off his head? Did you see how violently he yanked on it? He could have broken his neck.

  3. beachbum Legend Manager Steelers

Yes and I THOUGHT I had wrapped up our conversation with he GIFs. Then I moved on to SAS' awful accusation of Mason going for Garrett's nuts (and I quoted him).

    Except for one minor detail. I'm the one who posted the "dumb" still shot of Rudolph's foot in Garrett's crotch. Then, you posted multiple videos of virtually everything except that point in time. So, I went back and looked at all the video clips you posted and found only one that showed that point in time. Here it is;

That "leg push" was forcible enough to lift Garrett's right leg off the ground and move him backward about a foot to a foot and a half. Would you like to have that done to you by someone wearing cleats?

For the record, that STILL doesn't excuse Garrett's later action, but it does show your princess QB isn't as lilly white as he's being portrayed. It takes two to tango. IMHO, he should have received the same punishment as Ogungobi.

Truth be told, I'm glad Rudolph didn't get suspended. Hopefully he can hold onto his job against Cincy this week. Looking forward to facing him again.

I feel like the only one missing something here is you, sir.

The NFL rulebook clearly states that the (a) is a kick, punch, forearm, etc. even if it doesn't connect. Literally just taking a swing and missing counts. Very key in all this is that Garrett actually adjusts his body to make sure he doesn't land on Princess Rudolph as he's been flagged for this in the past. That act alone shows he's not starting out attempting anything other than a football play. Want more verification? The ref is right there and never even thinks about throwing the flag.

It's while they're on the ground that Princess -- very unsuccessfully -- tries to remove Garrett's helmet. If he weren't soft as peanut butter, he likely would have succeeded. Clearly, something is also said here -- Myles has refused to say what was said to him in this moment. It may or may not come out by the end of the appeal, but ultimately, we have very clear evidence of (b) and (c) and nearly (h).

Then, Rudolph attempts to strike Myles' groin with his leg.

Then, after Myles removes Princess' helmet (h), he's done. He's backing up, the Steelers' linemen have separated the two and it's over. Or so you'd think. Snowflake Rudolph comes charging at Myles. I even say the video isn't conclusive as to a groin shot:
Doesn't connect? Fine - intent is there and that's in the rules. Something else clearly happens here to cause the retreating Garrett to swing like he does. Maybe we'll find out, maybe we won't.

Literally, I have not seen one Browns fan defend what Garrett did, let alone condone it. I have seen plenty of Steelers fans defending Princess Rudolph, clutching their pearls like the last 20 years of Pittsburgh on Cleveland violence hasn't been a thing, and decrying any calls to suspend Rudolph for his clear instigation and escalation of the fight.

The more and more y'all keep defending #2, the more I think...

@Lyman on this post, Beach is talking about his response to SAS at 10:49am this morning. He actually only quoted SAS and was specifically talking about the alleged punch to Garrett's balls. That's why he posted the gif of the reverse angle that clearly shows no actual punch

OMG why can't you get this? I did show a GIF that addressed the still shot you referenced and then I moved on to SAS' post. I even referenced it as the still shot "with the arrow" and it was in his quoted post.

I'm not defending Rudolph. I'm arguing against the notion that he should be suspended - which isn't hard to do considering the league has access to far more video (and audio) than we do and they don't agree with you. But you're also the guy that thought DeCastro should be suspended. So it's not surprising.

Say what you will. It's all good. But when you show bad faith and post BS still frames I'm gonna set the record straight. Rudolph wasn't ball-grabbing and anyone can see that pretty clearly. He deserves criticism for pulling on the helmet and that's it. Clearly the league agrees.

p.s. If someone is ever trying to rip your head off I would encourage you to kick them and prevent them from doing that. Leg, balls, face, arm... wherever you can to keep your neck from being broken. Kick away. You're entitled.

The guy that held down an opposing player on the ground with his hands on/near his throat while his buddy came in punching and kicking that opposing player?

    Guess we have different priorities.
You need to work on your reading comprehension, then. I posted the stills talking about Princess continuing to aggro and escalate.

I said (twice now) that it appeared he was trying to swing or grab at Garrett (he was), but the groin as a target wasn’t conclusive.

Now, I can’t wait for our boys to face that coward again in 15 days.

I'll reply to this one instead of the most recent. This comment is clear and to the point. If you're walking it back then just say so.

"Even DeCastro on the other team, he was trying to keep everybody off me," Garrett said, per ESPN's Jake Trotter. "He understood the gravity of the situation, and he didn't want any more blows to be thrown, and he knew it was just two guys getting chippy. He and I made a mistake, but I appreciate him coming up to me and Larry coming up to me and having my back in the whole situation."

    For the record:

IMO, DeCastro did nothing wrong. The only reason he and Garrett ended up on the ground (when Pouncey entered the picture) is because he took Garrett to the ground after Garrett smacked Rudolph with his helmet.

In the video Garrett is in the process of ripping Rudolph's helmet off when Rudolph kicks him, so no Rudolph didn't do anything wrong in kicking him. If someone has your face mask trying to rip your helmet off you would kick them too because it can hurt pretty bad when some dumb asshole rips your helmet off.

  17. gidion72 Legend Steelers

Garrett was lifting him by his face mask at the time of the kick Lyman . You would kick Garrett too at that point.

  18. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

Turn in your Terrible Towel, Gid. Don't you know it wasn't a kick it was just a leg push? Afterall, nobody wearing a white jersey did anything wrong. Hell, Pouncey should be given the Nobel Prize for his peacekeeping effort.

Whatever, the point is Garrett is already had his face mask when the foot moved.

I believe SAS said it best: after Myles removes Princess' helmet (h), he's done. He's backing up, the Steelers' linemen have separated the two and it's over. Or so you'd think.

My point is that had it stopped there, there would have been minimal / normal punishments. Ejection, fine, whatever.

It's when Rudolph comes after Garret that the "indefensible" helmet swing occurs. I'm only saying if Rudolph had let it go at that point there would be no big deal.

Why Garret took the swing I don't know, but candy ass then played to the cameras and the refs, and no longer wanted to fight. Then in his press conference calls Garret "bush league". Kettle meet pot.
