Congratulations, Browns fans. That's a long-awaited and welcome win. I didn't get to see the game last night, as I was traveling - what was the catalyst for Mayfield coming in?
Congratulations, Browns fans. That's a long-awaited and welcome win. I didn't get to see the game last night, as I was traveling - what was the catalyst for Mayfield coming in? Bottom line is that, if Mayfield were in, the kicker was better, the refs were better, the... This is a bad game to play. Celebrate the win, and look forward, not backward. There's nothing good back there.
Tyrod left after he went into concussion protocol although, he was 4 of 14 for 19 yards when he went out, so I truly believe Baker would have went in anyway.
Another thing to think about is that at this point in time, the Pittsburgh Steelers are in last place in the AFCN.
Don't know where you snatched that from but the Browns are actually in 3rd place with a .333 win percentage. But the Steelers are still in last place !
Believe me, I'm enjoying the W...lol! The sting of those first two heartbreaks is still there though, I can't deny.....
I think the interesting thing is that in three games played, the Browns have allowed less points scored than the Steelers have in two games. If the Bengals keep the Panthers under 17 and the Ravens don't somehow allow Denver to score more than 25, the previous statement will be true of the entire division come Monday morning. That's crazy to think about.
Also, congrats to the Browns organization and fanbase. I like Tyrod, but it seems that Cleveland may have finally found a real QB. Mayfield was tearing it up on the field. He's clearly the superior QB to Tyrod. 3 years from now, the Browns could actually have to best QB in the division
Well, you do have the highest drafted one, I'll say that much. That guy in Pittsburgh is likely still the best in the division come January though
Thanks R-#1, the thing is, Mayfield did that coming in cold, with no practice reps with the #1's...His stat line was 17 of 23 for 201 yards, but it should have read 20 of 23 for about 270 yards. He had 3 huge drops that were perfectly thrown balls...But unlike Browns QB's of the past, Baker didn't flinch. He kept slingin darts and he MADE that comeback happen. Just imagine what Baker will do when he gets his timing down with a week of practice reps....AFCN is officially notified. The Browns have a quarterback. (yes, you heard that correctly)
It really is an exciting time to be a Browns fan. They stripped everything down, and started from scratch. Never forget Sashi @SAS ..They built this team the right way, and they built this thing to last. Our lack of having an NFL caliber QB led to an unreal amount of losing the last couple seasons, but in the bigger picture, it played to our advantage on draft day. The tradedowns in 2016 and 2017 were necessary to turn this thing around quicker. It's been a long brutal road, but Browns fans are going to get to enjoy something special now. This defense is certainly built to win now, and Baker Mayfield looks like he's ready to rock and roll.....The Browns are for real. This is going to be fun....
