Skinny, now that's what we mean!

Even my cat was dancing to that French Connection tune. I cannot wait to watch the whole series.

The Sabres won tonight, and all Ryan Miller had to face was 50 shots.

Wow, Matty, that mug would make my [del]Moulson[/del] Molson curdle.

I read Eriksson went for a skate also...that must be good news.

ya thats great news. speculation was all over the board around here. maybe the Olympics have Loui wanting to get back at it sooner rather than later.

  6. someone said MOAR SABRES, right? O:)

this one was painful, pretty much ended Moog's run in Boston and started a run of futility in net until TT showed up.

Matty, I, on the other hand, liked it. I could listen to Rick Jeanneret all day long. What do we have to do to change the title of this board to "All Sabres, All the Time"?

The "explanation" for why Hull's (non) goal was allowed:
"Blah, blah, blah... was anyone satisfied? Probably not." (Camera fades - to silence)

I was not satisfied! The most egregious call in the history of sports!; that's what I and all objective, sane people say.

I did like Lindy more after watching his reaction to the refs attempt to "explain" why Buffalo was jobbed. That's good entertainment!

They changed the rule the very next year, one of the biggest embarrasment in sports history, to have it come down to a game 7 in a SC finals. If you put that game together with the bills music city miracle, wide right and the 4 SB losses, its no wonder most people left the city distraught.

    if Im the recipient....Im listening.

  14. i'm on board - that "ruling" on hull's "goal" was an absolute joke. i didn't have a dog in that fight, and i agree it was as bad as it gets. a real black eye for the league.

  15. ps to matty: sorry about the mayday thing. i was only looking for a sabres highlight that i could think of offhand. at the time, until i watched it again, i didn't know a damn thing about it. didn't know it was playoffs even, let alone the winning goal of a sweep of the br00nz.

that being said, i hope jack edwards choked on his chowdah that night.

Well my tagline states, "The best part of saying you're from Buffalo is when it is (from) the past tense." I got outta there well before the Super Bowl runs, the Music City [del]Miracle[/del]Conspiracy/Fiasco, and the Stanley Cup Final debacle. I once defended the weather as "not that bad", but that changed after I moved to Colorado, (the sunniest state in the country - a true fact).

Now the most positive attribute that I credit Buffalo for having is that it does not take that long to get the hell out of there. They've got this bridge, and if you go over it, you're in a whole different country!

Buffalo has a chip on its collective shoulder that Niagara Falls could not wash away. Go easy on Buffalo fans; we're a hurting lot. It has almost been embraced - sort of like Red Sox fans in the previous century - it is as if losing defines us. The difference is that there's not much to distract the locals from their sports' woes, (well, Toronto is near by). They do not come across as a congenial group, but do not get mad; take pity.

I'm glad to have buffalo so close, I've been to the tailgate parties many times, had a blast, I pick up wgr550 with no problem. I grew up listening to ricky G, and I remember there being sabre games on the tube regularly in the 70's when growing up, not sure what happened, I guess the nhl center ice package took over, it was cool, a lot of afternoon games on the weekends.
