Someone just pointed out to me that as a Boston sports fan I've watched my favorite teams lose Mookie Betts, Tom Brady and Zdeno Chara all within the last year.
Well, I would take solace with the thought that you had to have ‘em in the first place before you can lose ‘em. Boston has had a remarkable 20 years. Don’t get complacent and think the stupendous level of success is likely to EVER be repeated (by any city, not just Boston).
Boston has had a remarkable 20 years. Dan is right Matty............2011 Stanley Cup.......I still have nightmares.....Game 7 on Home Ice and Canucks lose the game 4-0.....WTF
really cool video, thanks for posting it Will. Matty I'm sure you understand my feelings. It is a cool video with Bruin Legends.........BUT I'm just glad they did not show 2011.
hate to break it to you VV but the Chara part...... OOOPPPSSS my Bad your right Matty that is Chara hoisting the Cup in Vancouver.......FUCK I hate it.....lol
Boston Bruins Brad Marchand is expected to play in the season opener against the New Jersey Devils on Thursday even though he missed the past two days of practice. "It's always been a goal for him to be there opening night and we still expect that to happen, but we have to react to how he's feeling," general manager Don Sweeney said Tuesday. The forward had surgery for a sports hernia on Sept. 14, which had an expected recovery of four months. Marchand said on Jan. 4 he expected to play on opening night, but left practice early on Sunday before missing practice on Monday and Tuesday. Although Marchand did not practice, forward David Pastrnak, who underwent a right hip arthroscopy and labral repair on Sept. 16, was on the ice on for the first time during training camp skating in a non-contact jersey. Pastrnak will not play in the opener; his surgery had an approximate recovery time of five months. After playing in New Jersey on Thursday and Saturday, the Bruins play at the New York Islanders on Monday before returning home. During that time, Pastrnak will not have the ability to participate in "battle situations," Sweeney said, but the plan is to have him "fully integrate into practice upon our return." -- Amalie Benjamin
David Pastrnak could make his season debut for the Boston Bruins against the Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena on Saturday. The forward practiced wearing a full-contact jersey Monday and it appears he's weeks ahead of schedule after he had a right hip arthroscopy and labral repair Sept. 16. The projected recovery time was about five months. "First contact day today," Pastrnak said. "It's not fun getting hit the first time after four months. Obviously, I'll need to get used to that. "A lot of excitement. It's been a long road and it's been a long time, so I'm obviously itching to get out there. It's been a good day today, obviously to practice with the boys and practice with some bodies besides myself. Really excited to hopefully get more good days like today upcoming." Though Pastrnak skated with David Krejci at practice Monday, Boston coach Bruce Cassidy said that he would return to the top line with center Patrice Bergeron and left wing Brad Marchand. "Skated in a normal jersey today, so he took contact, which was the next step in his progression," Cassidy said. "So this week we'll see how he handles that, and then obviously if it goes well and he wakes up tomorrow or the next day, depending on how much contact he needs and doesn't feel any aftereffects, then we'll consider putting him in the lineup." in part; NHL.com _______________ _____________________________ Thats some real good news... for Boston, not the rest of their division.
