Loved that clip, Matty. That hits home with me. Ive seen the Bruins quite a bit this season. They are reall well put together and very well coached, which is something flying under the radar. They play a tough physical game, but they play smart too.
Rumblings that Rick Nash could be done for the season. Hoping this is just clickbait but the possibility is there. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bo...st-game-bruin/xR1uu53sHbsmMCWHUukJjO/amp.html
Even with the point production success Spooner has had for the Rangers I think Lindgren and the 1st are still more valuable. Spooner is a prime candidate to be vastly overpaid this summer. Either way, a terrible deal for the Bruins if Nash is done. Shit luck anyway.
Here's a theory, just throwing it out there. Nash played great his first four games, but nkt so great the next seven. Rather than keep him on the roster and slow things down out of pure stubborness because of the price you paid. You take him out and just say he's hurt because you can't afford to slow it down. They save the embarrassment of everyone knowing.
Certainly a possibility and I think things like this do happen. I just don’t think this is the case here because his level of play didn’t really drop much for the second part of his Boston tenure. He helped make Krejci the dynamic player he once was again and made it even harder for teams to key on the Bergeron line. I think the Bergeron injury affected Nash/Krejci because they were then forced in to #1 unit roles. My opinion is that Nash could be a beast in the playoffs given his size, skill and defensive game. Would rather have him in the playoff lineup over a Donato. Of course that’s just my opinion and Cassidy/Sweeney could side with your theory.
I don't believe personally that that's the case of Nash being takin out because of being slow or just saying he's injured. I saw the hit he took and it was a snotknocker. I believe he is legitimately injured and will return soon. In the couple of games I saw him play in the Bruins sweater, I would want him out there come playoff time. As Matty eluded too, he is what seems to makes Krejci tick and the chemistry between them is key come playoff time. What I would buy is, Nash got injured, but wont be rushed back, so he can be 100% and rested come playoffs... we will see. Not a great view, but here it is for the hell of it...
My opinion is based on the way the article was written. It suggested there was something more to this.
I understand and you may be right. Hard telling what wheels turn in the minds of the decision makers for clubs these days. Nothing would surprise me to be honest.
Carlo is out, ugly injury and tough way for the kid to end his season again. Out for the playoffs last year too. He'll hurt the lineup but he was looking at bottom pair D and being on a short leash to dress once everyone comes back anyway. RD- McAvoy, Krug, Miller, McQuaid. Donato has been good and grabbing headlines with the goals but his overall game is lacking and I think it could be an issue for playoff hockey. He gets knocked around and pushed off the puck quite a bit. I like Heinen over Donato for playoff hockey anyway. Good example here, OZ draw lost and all of a sudden its a 3 on 2 coming back at you. Both centers tie each other up and the wings just bust up ice as Donato can't even touch Provorov who ends up leading the charge. Be better Donato, Debrusk too. 1:37 mark.
Went to the Providence Bs/Springfield game yesterday. 1st time seeing Trent Frederic in person and I came away very impressed. Big kid that can move well and punish the opponent with a strong inside/out game. Jeremy Lauzon also looked really strong, excellent mobility.
game 4 @ Toronto for Bruins - Tuukka cant get outplayed, especially early in the game. - harder forecheck. seems like Cassidy pulled the reins back in game 3, screw that this version of the good guys has been successful being aggressively in the OZ. - keep Matthews in check, i feel like a big game outta him is on the horizon. - Krejci line finally needs to show up. - Bergeron -2 last game, this stats excites me because thats gonna change. - Bruins 4th line was great in game 3, keep that going. although this is similar to Bergy's line struggling, inevitable to even out. - Krug/Miller were brutal last game and that needs to be fixed. i like Holden....even rusty. not supposed to be looking at a screen but i wanted to get this off pregame. Adam McQuaid gwg, book it!
