    Broonz math is the best.
Pay Seidenberg and the sucky Hayes $2.73 not to play for you,
pay Beleksey and Backes $9.8 to be be old and slow,
dont pay your 21 year old who put up 34-36-70 anything more than $6.
in the Broonz 500 year existence only Barry Pederson and Bergeron put up 30+g/70+p in their 20 yo season.
since '99 only Ovechkin, Kovalsuck, Malkin, Kopitar, and McJesus have done that.
but dont pay the kid his league value, brutal.

i think its fair to say that the Broonz and the Pastrnak camp are monitoring this thread and have responded appropriately.

Why wouldn't they be reading this thread?

Seabass and Sweeney are terrible. Why bicker over a few million on a core piece. They've already sodomized themselves on all their depth extensions, better to build the core and let the rest of the contracts expire imo.

Ya, I don't think there are any other options at this point. They can try to trade their anchor contracts but I'm sure they'd have to eat substantial salary to do so.

I'm hoping that some of the new kids crack the lineup on a regular basis. Guys like Heinen, Debrusk, Lauzon, Bjork.......someone that can play the majority of the season in the NHL and learn on the fly.

Backup goalie is a major concern once again and it has not been addressed, once again.
"Hey, maybe Malcolm Subban was just pretending to be awful every day for the past 4 years and now he's ready to make that jump."

Report: Bruins place Malcolm Subban on waivers...

Which would mean Anton Khudobin solidifies the back-up role.

have to give props to that boob Sweeney on the Pastrnak deal, I really like it from the Bruins perspective.
thats all though, Sweeney stills sucks. Thomas Chabot, Matthew Barzal and Kyle Connor should all be on this team.

Subban was claimed too. I don't know who took him, but he's gone.

Danton Heinen (spelling?) impressed the hell outta me a couple of years ago at the Univ. of Denver. He just seems to have an instinct for the game.

Tonight he was the offense for Boston in their 2-1 victory over SJ.

Do you have a scouting update for us on this youngster, Matty?

Heinen looked great last night, only played limited minutes including shorthanded time (SHG to boot) but looked good nonetheless.
The kid has 5 points in 4 games this season with the Bruins and 8 points in 4 AHL games in Providence.

I like how versatile he is- can play W or C, play on the PP or SH, and can play top 6 or bottom 6.
He had a bit of a learning curve turning pro but really came on the 2nd half of last year (1st season as a pro) and has continued and even ramped up his play. He still looks slight out there although he's listed at 6'1/185. He had 2 greasy goals last night but is also capable of snipecity. I remember not so long ago watching him take out my BC Eagles in the NCAA regionals out here, they were continually trying to feed him the puck on the off wing for one timers from out wide, almost near the boards. Demko was up to the task that day but Heinen was very impressive as a freshman that game and entire season. hard to speculate but he seems happy to play anywhere and willing to take on any role, sort of the way Marchand was when he got called up.
Hoping he sticks around he was called up for Krejci, which seems inevitable at this point.

what a draft the Bruins had in '14 with only 5 picks they nabbed- Pastrnak, Heinen, Bjork, and Donato.
very interested to see how this Donato situation plays out. He could hit FA and would be the NCAA prize if he does. Being a Boston kid and having his dad as an ex-Bruin leads me to believe that he signs here though.

Been reading a lot of power rankings and articles about how great the Bruins are lately and I think people should pump the brakes. Seems like the highs are too high and the lows are too low. Let's see if the late season collapse thats screwed this team over the past few seasons can be avoided. All comes down to injuries and timing......let's see how it shakes out when the playoffs roll around.
Its the same team it's been over the past decade, plus/minus a few players and a bit of a different system. Let's be honest, Cassidy runs a more up tempo game but he was still under Cload for almost a decade still buys in to the wait and pounce approach. Inside out in the DZ and NZ and load up in the house.
Patrice Bergeron is a top 5 player in this league and is finally getting his due, Tuukka has always been elite, (Insert any team here) hates Marchand, Chara is still huge, McAvoy has me more excited about any Bruin rookie I can remember in a very long time.

Imagine Sweeney took Barzal, Chabot and Boeser instead of Zboril, Debrusk and Seneshyn.

Imagine Sweeney had completed what I thought he was trying for that June and had parlayed those picks into Marner and/or Hanafin?

Would be nice but I’d rather go Barzal, Boeser, and Chabot....... as opposed to just one Hanifin/Marnee.
I wonder how close Sweeney was to trading up. From what I remember Hanifin and Werenski were the targets.

At least the bruins figured out that putting your three best players on the same line and play them half the game works good.

You win like this on posession alone, the best defense is an offense. Babbs refuses to put matthews and marner on the same line despite proven success. Damn, what was the use of drafting him just to play him on the 4th line? Hanafin would be looking really good on the leafs now.

I noticed when Babs was with Detroit he would mix lines all the time under the guise that he wanted all starters to be ready and familiar with plug-ins at any time and for any situation.

I like how Boston isn't always juggling the lines all the time... kinds adds to the feel for one another players can develop and feel comfortable.
