i think they have their own updated VHF Wheel of Fish that they spin to make major decisions. always comes up "Stupid, you're so stupid!"
Krug, Krejci both expected to skate tomorrow at the opening of camp... more than likely under 'no contact' tho.
Bruins new practice facility just opened up in the city. They had been playing in a local dump for decades about 20 mins outside the city in Wilmington. You can rent the ice at the new place and a bunch of guys I skate w/ are in the process of grabbing an hour, hoping we can get a reasonable time and rate. http://www.boston.com/news/business/2016/09/08/bruins-new-practice-arena-to-open-at-boston-landing

Christian Ehrhoff signs PTO with Boston. He can appear, maddenly, aloof. I think he's just German. This has a chance to work out well for the Boston Mattys.
Using the amnesty buyout on him struck some as very odd. Surely, the thinking was at the time, some team would give up a worthwhile asset for a proven commodity like Ehrhoff. They bought him out to avoid the risk of him retiring before the end of his 10 year, (and extremely front-loaded deal). It has to be remembered that that was the still-euphoric days just after Pegula bought the team and stated that is ownership was ALL about winning. So Ehrhoff was set free and I was surprised that he only got a modest $4MM 1-year deal from the Pens. I was even more surprised when he did not really work out in PIT. Since then he's been a journeyman. Maybe the wheels have just fallen off, or perhaps he's become complacent after banking around $25MM Pegulabucks. In all earnestness, I wish him the best in Beantown. The Sabres will soon eclipse Boston in the talent and in the public perception arenas. I want a competitive Beantown side to maintain one of sports' great rivalries. I also think Christian is misperceived on a personal level. He is (or at least was) very good at hockey, his nonchalance sometimes gave the impression that he did not give a shit. Yes, he did give up on the Sabres. But, really, he cannot really be faulted. The team was entering a preposterous epoch of extreme suckitude, and everyone knew it. I cannot blame him for wanting out. I hope he regains some respect by having a good year for Boston. Then again, if he sucks, that'll be o.k. too.
Ehrhoff was done before he left Pitt. LA and Chicago were woefully shorthanded at the blueline, fringe NHL players fighting for minutes and he struggled to gain trust in the coaches. His sample size was too small in Chicago, but in LA there was nothing at the backend because of injuries and Voynov. He couldn't find a place to stick. I'll be surprised if he actually lands a contract...even with that blueline mess in Boston.
well, no one on my mens league team likes playing D, i can guarantee him a spot as long as he's willing to bring beer when its his turn in the rotation.
