i don think he could even blow it up right. theres just no consistent direction for this team, i dont think he can do anything right. i want to punch Sweeney right in that smarmy mug.

I will be shocked if BOS does not have their new D today. It looks like BUF & BOS will be bidding against each other for some of them. Good. Drive up the price for Sweeney! I think Shats will be Matty's boy - just a hunch. In the end, I think that Tim Murray will want to go a little younger, and I think Cam Fowler is most likely. I am slightly concerned that he's going to be very pricy for a player that's not polished in all aspects of the game. Still, Buffalo's SC window isn't open yet, but by the time it is the Sabres window could be open for a decade or more. I think if Jimmy Vesey comes to town today that the chances of signing him spike up. Oh, this is the Boston board. I'll leave it at that.
i remember the USNTDP playing BC years ago when Shattenkirk was something like 17 and playing for the national team. he scored and there was a huge cheering sections yelling "Shatty!". i liked him for about 20 seconds, until I was told that he was headed to BU.

I don't hate Charlie McAvoy at 14 at all (I like him a lot). But I love the fact that he once outed his hatin' of the hockey team from Boston. I've come around to the opinion that Sweeney is not shrewd and green (learning the GM ropes). Rather, he's just a fucking idiot that is too new at the job to have gotten fired yet. Are the Jacobs inbred? There's a lot of that in Euro nobility and in Western New York State.
agreed on McAvoy at 14 Dan. not mad about that one. Fabbro was my guy but I can get on board w/ McAvoy. Actually reminds me of Shattenkirk. Sweeney..........ugh. the whole Jacobs clan could've been concocted on the Island of Dr. Moreau. Charlie's pick of McAvoy was as brutal as it gets. very real chance that he was gonna pick just some random player and then throw up on himself.
Tim Schaller is a nice depth signing by Boston. In the past couple of years he's had a decent amount of time in Buffalo. That shouldn't fool anyone since the Sabres roster was not, uhmm, that good. There was no room but in Rochester for him anymore in the org., so I'm pleased to see him land on his skates. He's a NH boy and played NCAA at Providence, so I'm sure he's happy. He can perform at a better than AHL level, but if he's called up to Boston, that can only be bad news for Matty.
I saw that episode. Good stuff. I'm still not sold on Sequin as a winner though. No mistake about the talent.
"their culture" is my favorite part. i suppose at the time they actually did have a really strong organization/locker room/ culture or whatever. the picture still makes me chuckle though, look at that slob.
