lol, i love it. i know its all in good fun and its great. I think that this hit was merely an unveiling to the fans of Buffalo what kind of team they had on their hands. Blaming Lucic, known around here as St. BigFat, is just transferring the blame of an organization lack of gumption to a singular opponent who happened to reveal it.
You are partly correct with: I wish I had been on M-n-C when that came down, as my old stomping grounds was replete with lame Sabres fans missing the point - that could not make a cogent point. The Hit did reveal a critical problem for the Sabres and they have not been able to fix it. John Scott was brought in for the sole purpose of standing up to Lucic. That's more than lame. It probably is the root reason for why Regier is out of work. When one's team is historically bad it is like grasping at straws to try and find positives - there aren't any, really. Only a complete reconstruction of the team will bring any chance for satisfaction. Here's where you are partly wrong; you are too blithe when speaking about The Hit. The fact is that The Hit was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. Sure, it was legal for him to hit the goalie out at the blueline. He should have hit him; that's hockey. He did not have to go at it with an apparent intent to hurt him. His s#it-@ss grin in subsequent interviews, IMO, proves that he's less than forthcoming on that point. Regardless of the (needed) wake-up call to Buffalo, he let the NHL down that day. Yes it is, my friend, yes it is. And it has been a lot of fun. Perhaps it is because of the dreadful Sabres, but it's more likely your influence, but I find myself softening a bit regarding the hockey team from Boston. But, but, I still cannot bring myself to say that name.
This is cross-posted from another thread. Regarding the Sabres "alternate" jerseys, I was the high bidder for the garish #82 (Marcus Foligno), and I cannot wait to startle fans around the league. Technical difficulties prevented me from being the high bidder on my first choice, #28. Perhaps dyslexia is setting in in my old age and I got the numbers confused. Zemgus Girgensons is the real deal; a reason for hope.
St.BF did ok here imo. Well, we don't know the whole truth but from the video and witness accounts so far he managed to keep himself in control. Id assume that athletes run in to shiitt like this all the time. We're just in an era of crazy celebrity adulation + everyone has a cell phone camera...what could possibly go wrong? Mugatu isn't totally wrong.
deflection noted, bob. that wasn't exactly the best episode star trek made - but it's still light years ahead of ben stiller + will ferrell. of course, so is darryl sutter + randy carlyle
why am i the only one that +'d this pic? i'm not into heffers or anything, but that was funny. totally MAGOTES.
Bruins send down Kevan Miller and bring up David Warsofsky. Bit of a head scratcher here, Miller has been very solid. Finding out what Warsofsky can do is the only thing that makes sense to me here. I was going to post earlier that I thought Miller's strong play has really made Boychuk dispensable, Bruins need to get faster back there and Boychuk aint the answer. Maybe Edmonton will give up some future high picks for their local boy. elephant shoe too.
