the lines to start last night and the lines that finished it. nice to see Claude mix it up a bit even if it's at the expense of the kids.
Bruins Prospects Report Considering what they have on the big club, D is the most important position specifically for the Bruins prospects. Gonna quickly focus on the 3 guys in the pipeline taken in last year's draft. Jeremy Lauzon (2/#52, '15) 6'2- 193, Rouyn Noranda- QMJHL Real late riser last season and for good reason. He put up some points in the second half of last season and finished w/ 36 pts in 60 games and 88 pims. So far this year he's playing top pair minutes and in 15 games has 24 points and 28 pims. Jakub Zboril (1/#13, '15) 6'1- 184, Saint John- QMJHL Finally got off the schneid and potted 2 goals last weekend. Rumors of him not being happy back in the Q, he needs to shut up and nut up. Get your shit done and improve. And cut that awful hair. Brandon Carlo (2/#37, '15) 6'5- 196, Tri City- WHL Monster kid from Colorado that opened eyes last year making the US WJC squad. Has 8 points and 32 pims in 11 games, i like those pims a lot considering his size. He looked good playing for the Bruins in the preseason, he was a late cut and almost made the team.
Nicely done, Matty. I like the size of these guy's, I especially like Carlo. Sounds like a natural and should be up with the big team sometime soon. ___________________________________________ How bad is Pasternak? Injury wise that is...
i don't really know what Pastrnak has Will. He's so slight, injuries are inevitable for him. He needs a good 15+ lbs at this point. hoping you're right about Carlo, I think his base minimum is bottom pair goon but his ceiling is much higher.
lol, i have to call myself out here. ya no shit Einstein. when i re-read that it made me laugh from stupidity.
This was an exceptional draft class, and particularly deep at D. You may recall I really liked Zboril for BUF at #31 or even #21, (both picks moved on draft day). Now that he's your property I will continue to pull for him, but don't mind hearing that he may have europeanitis. (The same thing that got Armia shipped to WPG.) I'm looking for the resurrection of an epic rivalry between BUF & BOS in two or three years.
matty, sorry about chris kelly's broken leg. ltir gives you 3 mil, but that will not replace him. at his age, it could be a career changer. i nevah want any player to get injured like that, not even marchand.
its funny, that condition is so prevalent among Russians, almost non existent among Swedes and Finns and a crapshoot w/ the Czechs. Hoping this specific Czech gets put in his place early and often. hopefully Dan, hopefully.
rediis, first thing i thought when i saw Kelly go down was that his career is probably over. he was looking at a substantial pay cut this off season, now he might be looking at a PTO. My cousin Dave and Kelly were line mates in Binghampton and they're still close. When Kelly was traded to Boston he spent the first week or so at Dave's house outside the city. He even had Dave and his family up to his place for his Cup party in the summer of 2011. an underrated player here that caught way too much flack locally for his contract. since he got here and i was able to see him every night, I've thought of Chris Kelly as a poor man's Patrice Bergeron.
Europeanitis: a malaise most frequently associated with hockey players that grew up on the wrong side of the Atlantic Ocean. It is characterized by an inflated perception of the player's current hockey capabilities, and a more disturbing display of unwillingness to be coached and to progress to a higher level. Joel Armia, (Finland), was severely afflicted by this and I was actually delighted to see him packaged to Winnipeg. (Addition by subtraction.) Russians are more susceptible to this malady, but I think we all need to be alert for any prospect that has a funny name. (Of course, there are many more Euros that escape its pernicious clutches, but it's a possible factor for any Euro prospect.) The BUF-BOS was, and will be again, one of the greatest rivalries in sports. I expect that Boston will emerge from this mini-funk rather quickly. And, everyone knows the trajectory for the Buffalo Sabres.
hoping Mr Burns didn't make any money off these (obviously intelligent) soldiers wearing Bruins gear.
i know, its expected from someone like Marchand or Bigfat, but Krejci? Bad penalties killed them against Wash the other night too. Krejci and Plek have a history but that was just ridiculous. 2 mins left and you knew the Habs were gonna score.
