It is the silver lining... rest. I hate to imagine a rested, hungry, rejuvenated Chara. 4-6 weeks will roll by quickly anyways and he probably comes back, new and improved. That sched he recently filled made me tired just reading it. Nothing like a little NHL experience for the Bartkowski and company call ups.
Stewart has a cap hit of $4.15MM so any trade with Boston would require sending Buffalo a contract. Maybe Stewart a #2 and a mid-major prospect for Subban along with a salary-dump might be possible. I forgot about your team's connection with the Sens, too. I expect that Buffalo and the hockey team from Boston are on better speaking terms than they have been for many years. I certainly am on better speaking terms with any fans of that team since I came to MnC.
hoping thats the case Will. I think it is. Even though he's 37, he's only 37 in Ivan Drago years. It's like reverse dog years. 1 Drago year = 2 human years. He's really only 25.
i think so too. the Buffalo figureheads are all relatively new and there hasn't been too much garbage between them since Pegula/Murray/Nolan took office. I would really doubt that Subban would be sent to Buffalo. If he did Id have to think the Bruins would be confident that he won't be elite. that or theyde be stupid. either way, i hope Subban doesn't end up in Buffalo, I like inner division teams having thin goaltending. I liked Hackett when he came up w/ Minnesota for that cup of coffee in '11/12, not sure what has happened to him since though. his numbers are pretty bad.
Hackett is in sick bay until at least December. He could stop the first shot but not the rebound in Rochester. Not a ringing endorsement for his NHL potential. I've heard reports that he is a strange guy even by goalie standards. At this point I am not counting on him for anything, but would love to be wrong. Buffalo has several goalie prospects that may prove to be starters in the future. There really is no such thing as a sure-thing in hockey, but it would be good to have one that is expected to be good compared to having a few that might be good.
my math may be completely off, let me try that again. he's only 37 in human years. It's like reverse dog years. 1 Drago year = 2 human years. He's really only 25.
This got me thinking about this: If Jacobs were forced to move to Boston, that second could get moved up to one of our firsts in '15.
The Hockey Writers, (I do not know how authoritative their voice is, but at least they are from Canada), has three proposals involving the Sabres and the hockey team from Boston. They involve Myers and possibly Stewart going east. Some involve Subban going to Buffalo, so I am willing to consider anything that could put him in blue & maize. thehockeywriters.com/trade-talk-flyers-bruins-need-defencemen/ I see Boston's cap situation as the biggest impediment to getting anything done between these long-time adversaries. If they were ever to swing a deal, this would be the year to do it.
I would be shocked if the Bruins traded for a D. They don't need one, they have 2 that are on their way back. Curious about no timetable on Miller but it is reported as a dislocated shoulder, a couple more weeks he should be back. Strange how close to the chest they're playing that. A winger like Stewart would be beneficial. Ideally, Id like to get Eberle. I wouldn't mind giving up the farm but as Dan mentioned, money would have to be moved back in any case for a quality player. Boychuk and Subban would've been a starting place this off season. Maybe Chris Kelly ($3m) + Subban + picks?
If you're lucky, Lowe might trade you Marc Savard for Eberle...I wouldn't be shocked. I think the asking price for Eberle will include 2 roster players including a 2nd pair d and 2nd line forward plu
no, just Dave Stubbs twitter. found a link to it. https://twitter.com/Dave_Stubbs/status/526483238408036352
the man-child Charlie Coyle returns. Some say that the reason he made the NHL is from his short stint at Weymouth High playing against a particular JV team where he ran rampant and raped and pillaged his way to a million points in that game. Some say. Its' been said anyway, by me. http://www.twincities.com/wild/ci_26808701/wilds-charlie-coyle-its-little-weird-playing-hometown
