Paille is back. Was impressed w/ Florek, highly doubt Cload would take Thornton out of the lineup but I would be all for Paille + Florek in and Thornton + Caron out. Dennis Seidenberg practicing w/ the team, no contract drills though. SInce he went down I had looked at the schedule and hoped that he could be available if the Bruins make the ECF. Looks like that may be a possibility if they can get there.
Im really starting to foil up. would you believe me if i told you i was currently wearing a Dmitri Kvartalnov jersey? Hab slayer. I hope we don't allow these guys to get under our skin. its ridiculous that these go to seven games. looking at these 2 rosters i don't understand why the Bruins allow themselves to be goaded in to having to prove their own toughness. Everyone on the Bruins should giggle at the Habs and their cute garbage. grind em down period by period, blow em kisses, give em kisses, whatever, just don't buy in to the stewpid. crash Price hard and pound Markov, Subban, and Emelin as much as w/ in the boundaries. and know what the fucking boundaries are!!!! to which i say Fuck you Montreal.
bad loss last night. goes w/out saying. i was pretty confident that the good guys would go in to Montreal and treat it like a business trip and walk away w/ the series. terrible turnover on that 1st goal and that really got Montreal going. after the 1st i thought the Bruins showed a glimpse of what got them there by owning puck possession in the Montreal end for most of the 2nd before a timely goal from Pacioretty really deflated the Bruins and got the Habs rolling. Those timely goals and timely saves haven't been there enough this series. Most fans probably don't realize that Krejci has twice lead the league in postseason scoring. he needs to get back to the basics and move w/ the puck instead of playing the nervous rabbit role. St. BF is driving me nuts. Reilly Smith and Loui Eriksson are eventually going to miss the crossbar and bury the puck....if the season doesn't end tomorrow night.
Marchand winning the Burrows athletic cup for shooting excellence this postseason. Is he a liability or is he due for game 7?
Heard Pierre say it's a crime if Bergeron doesn't win the Selke, because there's no other really, really good top line defensive forwards out there.
Marchand hasn't really been a liability in my opinion but he's certainly not getting it done offensively. Pierre just wants to shackle Bergy up in a basement somewhere in Montreal and keep him for himself. 12 hours to go.
my extremely early knee jerk reaction looking ahead....... big question mark will be Iginla. after spending his entire career w/ Calgary and then joining two different organizations in short order I would assume that he's inclined to stay and assume the Bruins want him to. what do they say about assumptions? either way, it comes down to the dollars so we'll see. an ideal contract would be another old man 1 year hide the money deal like they got out of him this season. Thornton- bye bye. that entire 4th line was weak this year. Gregory Campbell is now two steps slower than he was just a couple seasons ago. not sure if that ankle injury from last year had anything to do w/ that. Bruins have young speed to bring up in Khochlachev and Spooner but I'm not sure either is suited for 4th line Cload duty. Would love to see the lines switched around. I love me some Chris Kelly but he very well may be a cap casualty. RFAs- Reilly Smith will get a nice bump and probably a bridge deal, same goes for Krug. Bartkowski.........Ive been high on him but his game seemed to really regress this season. Im sure he'll be re-signed but he could be a trade candidate. Speaking of trade candidates, Bruins have McQuaid and Seidenberg coming back making at least one D expendable. Hamilton isn't going anywhere but Boychuk, Miller, and McQuaid are all righties and fairly similar in overall play in my opinion. If Mcquaid is right one of them gets moved I think. Im hoping for Boychuk as he is vastly over rated. Edmonton, Dallas, and Detroit (?) all need depth D and righties I believe. From all accounts Joe Morrow had a nice season in Providence and could be ready for full time NHL minutes......is he still a giant [del]dikhead[/del] Pierrehead though? Chad Johnson's numbers probably earn him a decent multi year deal and Khudobin's success in Carolina this past season will only strengthen Johnson's case. My opinion- buyer beware, he's just not very strong in net. definition of backup. Meszaros and Potter- see Thornton.
I think Iginla stays too. Kelly's situation is troubling because he finished injured. It may come down to how he was filed by PC, he may not be eligible for a compliance buyout. I think it would be smarter NOT to lose both Kelly and Campbell, so I"m not sure what a better idea would be in terms of keeping one or the other. Thornton will be perfect for Burke in CGY. oooohhhh, Edmonton would be nice. Pair him with Ference and give him the 7th "A" on the roster perhaps? Boychuk's experience and size will keep teams interested though. Not sure Boychuk fits well for Nill or Holland, I would be surprised if either of them made a move for him. Not much movement on FA signings in terms of being taken off of the board. There might be some veteran stopgaps available while the younger players progress, but since Kelly is overpaid a bit, it will be tougher to overpay for more than one UFA in my opinion. We should start seeing things move next week I think, or at least hear better rumors about tentative agreements. Krecji and Soderberg hit an extension window this summer. I can't imagine PC will sit on those extensions if he can avoid it. I'm looking forward to overreactions.
and he's from there I think so the fans can pretend that matters. not to mention Pierre loves his shot. what do you mean here? that PC will re-sign them before they hit the market next season?
I'm guessing Krecji won't be waiting past October for an extension given PC's history with better players (Rask, Bergeron, Chara, Seguin, Seidenberg, Lucic, Marchand, etc.). He likes to have negotiations all but wrapped up before camp ends if they're going to be top 6/top 4 types, and even others. Goes to your point about him being proactive.
thats what i figured you were saying. i agree. Soderberg is a curious case. determining his value i mean.
that Marchand photo is really good. Tuukka kind of forced, Chara good, Marchand great. whats w/ the spoked G? golf?
