Who? Over Jack Parr. What are you Lymans younger brother? Carson was great though and is the king of late night. As we say in sports. However, in the modern era. Letterman. Let me make a rule. If any of your shows go back to the Bill Russell era..... Do I need to go further. Buy a magic stick.
You my friend watch a bit of the tele. I do like your list although I have only seen about a third of them. Very surprised no Breaking Bad. Up there with the Wire and Shield imo. Just started watching Gotham on Netflix and I'm not a DC or Marvel type. Show seems pretty good after half a season though.
Agree with you on Breaking Bad. Don Knotts was better as.... What was that movie he played a fish or the scary one. Again before my day and I"m closing in on 50. Mr. Roper? He was a one trick pony. "
Any of you watch it's always Sunny in Philadelphia or Family Guy or South Park or F is for Family. Those are all modern day sitcoms.
The fish one is: The Incredible Mr Limpet Scary one Im guessing you mean: The Ghost and Mr. Chick I always liked the Shakiest Gun in the West If you are going old school though nothing beat Abbot and Costello
I've made 70 trips around the sun. TV was invented before me but wasn't a commonplace item in the average home until after I was born. First started working with "machines" at work in 1979. To this day I can still remember some DOs commands.
Monty Python's Flying Circus was always funny. Benny Hill. Black Adder (fuck Mr Bean). The Young Ones. Most TV shows are silly and its hard for me to call them great, especially 1980s shit. 1970s: All In The Family is a classic. The Jeffersons. B&W days: Andy Griffith was a good performer (loved No Time For Sergeants), but his show and the other B&W classic, Leave It To Beaver, were good but seem so foreign these days. Newer stuff: 30Rock/Parks and Recreation were consistently funny. Just finished watching the US version of The Office. Louie (CK) was funny. I also watch Brooklyn Nine Nine. Broad City is another new-ish show that is solid for laughs. Another two good animation comedy series are Bob's Burgers and Bojack Horseman. Serious stuff: Narcos is a good serious show. The Wire. The first season of True Detective (Harrelson and McConaughey) was excellent. The second season was garbage and 100% unrelated to season 1. Breaking Bad was good and I watch Aaron Paul's (also in Bojack) new show The Path. Better Call Saul. I really should watch the final season of Mad Men to finish that one off.
When I was 3, my aunt (moms sister) was the boss when it came to pop culture. Her favorite shows were carol burnette and mary tyler moore. My uncle used to like bonanza, my parents never really watched much. As I got older, my shows were batman, welcome back kotter, happy days, threes company. As the 80s rolled around, I really can't say I was a big fan of any shows, although I was a mild fan of cheers and seinfeld.
Great show that showcased some damn good actors and actresses. I thought it ran the perfect length and the ending made sense...rare for a show.
yes BWW! Unlike Dexter, who deserved to die for his dealings and murders, Nucky also deserved his end. Now the real Nucky Thompson lived a long life, but the show decided to end it their way. I loved it. People hated it, but that's how you end a show. The 1 thing I didn't like was how easy it was for Capone to go to jail. I thought he would go out with a bigger bang. haha.
