I'm now 1- 6 on picking the Thursday Night winners. Only a 0-7 is worse.

The Chiefs and Patriots have both played 2 TNF games but no team has had 2 scheduled this year in traditional TNF spots. The season opener and Thanksgiving games don't normally count as far as NFL-Network is considered. There are 2 more teams that play twice on Thursday. The Cowboys and Redskins play on Thanksgiving and then have a traditional TNF game the following week. Good thing they both play the week before or else one team would have a pretty unfair advantage of a full week. I wonder if it was planned like that.

 

Joe - good point. same for MNF lately. the eagles played last Thursday and won't play again till Monday Night. a nice long break off after a short week vs Carolina. I agree the Thursday teams should great a break after a short week.

 

Ya that is a nice break but 1 extra day from a Thursday game isn't really an issue. It's the shorter end that matters. Monday to Sunday isn't an issue either really.

 

Chiefs 2 Thursday road games, Cowboys 2 at home.

 

6 teams play twice on Monday this year.
Redskins had the Chiefs week 4 and play the Eagles this week. Both away.
Chiefs also play the Broncos next week. Both home.
The Lions played the Giants week 2 and the Packers 2 weeks from now. Both away.
Dolphins play go to the Panthers later and host the Patriots.
Falcons go to Seattle and Tampa Bay.
Eagles host the Redskins this week and the Raiders on Christmas.

 

Counting Sunday Night football, no team really gets an preferential treatment as far as number of games and if they are played at home.

 

I sorta agree with you. Like everyone else, I had the Chiefs. But the Raiders looked like last years Raiders. They still have Buffalo, New England, and Denver coming up in the next 5 weeks. I have them picked as my Super Bowl team in this game. So, last night gave me some amount of hope.

 

I was seriously looking for the Raiders to be like last Sunday's Raiders.

 

The NFL ought to schedule it so that each team playing on Thursday has a bye week the week before that. I guess that makes too much common sense, though, probably never happen.

 

Ya I've been saying that for years. It's not that complicated. They could even do it without making it official.

Joe correct me if I'm wrong........BUT the Redskins were the ONLY team that did not make the playoff's in 2016 that has TWO Monday Night Games .
