Because these next 2 weekends have very early games played in London, the pick'em ballots need to be submitted before 9:30am Eastern this Sunday and the next.

 

How about that, the Saints didn't play over the weekend yet they moved up to 2nd in the CBS Sports NFL Power Rankings.

Sunday's meeting with the Ravens' staunch defense ought to be a big test, also because the Ravens haven't lost to the Payton/Brees combo yet.

 

I make it a point to stay out of other people's discussions/debates, especially on a site I have considered home during the football season for many years. I am making an exception today.

More often than not, a friendly debate in which the participants have the mental acuity to be bitingly sarcastic as well as harsh and strong debaters/jokers, can take an instantaneous negative turn which usually brings on a series of quick and snappy decisions made in anger resulting in lost friendships. Things can go critically wrong because of a misconception. I believe it to be the case here.

The verbal chess game that has been going on between Catfish and SoCal took that horrible wrong turn.
I am not taking sides, but I don't believe for a minute that Catfish was bagging on Babyfan in his responses to Socal. A person would have to be in a coma to not realize all the hard work and dedication on her part to allow us to enjoy this yearly contest. All of us that truly know Babyfan know that she can take care of herself. The lady can scrap with the best of them and come out intact, pristine and ready to battle again with not even a hair out of place. That's why she has our respect and support.

Let's get back on track and continue to compete. Trash talking is always welcomed when it's in fun. No quitting allowed on Babyfans Annual Pick'ems Contest. Good luck to you all for the rest of the season!

But in Catfish's defense ?? He and I share one thing. We both possess a very sarcastic sense of humor. After I won my second season, he started trashing on me. I thought, great !! I'll just trash him right back !! And I have to admit, it's been a lot of fun. And I hope that you guys have gotten at least a chuckle or a groan out of it along the way.

After further review . . . please change my Browns / Buccaneers pick to the Buccaneers {sigh}.

• The Browns are on the road.
• They'll have just about as many running backs active (3) as wide receivers.
• Joe Schobert (QB of the defense) is highly unlikely to play.

I think they will suck just as much this week as they did last year.

 

Ugh Lyman. I feel for you. The Bears stabbed me in the back last week

 

After the last 18 years, I don't have any square millimeters on my back that hasn't been stabbed.

I don't think so. Virginia McCaskey may not be the sharpest owner in the drawer, but she's still head and shoulders better than Randy Lerner.

 

Plus, meaning no ill will ... she's likely going to die soon. Maybe. Right? I think she's about 137 years old by now.
