In Denver there was a lot of angst over the QB that got away when Sloter went to the Vikes. I understand Elway's thinking - and I will begrudgingly concede that John may know more about the NFL QB position that I do - you have to take Osweiller back, especially with Cleveland still paying his absurd salary. Still, Kyle played relatively locally at N. Colorado, and he really impressed everyone with his poise. It would be ideal to let him carry a clipboard for a year, or two, but given the injury situation, I think Minnesota ought to find out what they really have in him.
I would like to see him hold the clipboard and not see the field,i agree with that but the Vikings qb situation is so messed up he might find himself starting hope not,HOPING THAT CASE KEENUM CAN KEEP IT GOING...i wonder what ELWAY knows that Ricky don't?
Oh, John wanted to keep Sloter, but the opportunity arose to get an experinced* NFL QB and one that was super cheap. He kind of had to claim Osweiller back (* both NFL & Bronco experience). I'm sure he wished he could slide Sloter to the PS. Good pick up by Minny.
I saw some highlights of him on youtube very impressive, young O-line Cook young enough he could bounce back...maybe they grow into something good well the luck gotta change sooner or later lol GO VIKINGS
I'm starting to wonder big time about this so called turf, all these ACL's,knee injuries ankle injuries broken bones etc. the turf Monster is running wild in these stadium
Kyle Rudolph says Vikings can win with any of their three quarterbacks... No team in the NFL has more uncertainty at the quarterback position than the Vikings, who are starting Case Keenum now but could go back to either Sam Bradford or Teddy Bridgewater when their respective knee injuries are fully healed. But Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph says that uncertainty is not a problem. Rudolph said on PFT Live that he and the Vikings’ other receivers have confidence in all three of their quarterbacks. “These are all guys that can help us win football games,” Rudolph said. “Unfortunately in this business you deal with injuries. We seem to deal with more than everyone else in the last couple years but it happens. I think all these guys have handled it extremely well and have been ready for their opportunities.” It’s unclear what the Vikings’ quarterback depth chart will look like when and if all three quarterbacks are healthy and ready to play, but Rudolph says that won’t matter to the rest of the team. “I think the biggest thing is just for us as pass catchers, keeping a consistent routine and a consistent work habit throughout the course of the week,” Rudolph said. “We can’t worry about eight weeks from now, we can’t worry about next week, all we can focus on is taking each and every game and making sure we maximize those reps in practice.” With the Vikings in first place in the NFC North, they have every reason to feel confident they can get to the playoffs, despite having no idea who their starting quarterback will be if they get there.
I hear good things about Teddy but I hope he does not play this year and start next year get well and see if you still got it!,Sam Bradford is looking like the odd man out cause you cannot depend on him just hope Case Keenum can hold it together and not crumble under pressure this season will be a real test for the Vikings to see just where there at IMO
The Vikings can’t seem to keep quarterbacks upright. But they’re having problems now keeping the guys who keep the quarterback healthy on the field. The 5-2 Vikings finished yesterday’s win over the Ravens without left tackle Riley Reiff and left guard Jeremiah Sirles, who left with knee injuries. Via Brian Murphy of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said: “I don’t think it’s anything serious.” But considering the problems the Vikings had on the offensive line last year, any absence is going to trigger alarms. Sirles was starting in place of the injured Nick Easton, who has been out the last two weeks. That left rookie Danny Isidora getting his first action on offense. Reiff was replaced by second-year tackle Rashod Hill. Zimmer said the hope is that Easton can return next week for their game in London against the Browns.
it's the last thing they need some O-line turmoil, this is a very dangerous game for the Vikings it's against team that really has nothing to lose..with the bye coming up London really why? just seems dumb to me an NFL team over there GO VIKINGS
McKinnon is a lot better than I thought and tougher he really helps the run game now that he got a real chance to show what he can do
Vikings claim Mack Brown, return Andrew Sendejo to roster The Vikings made a couple of roster moves upon returning from Sunday’s 33-16 win over the Browns in London. The team announced that safety Andrew Sendejo is back on the 53-man roster. Sendejo was serving a one-game suspension as a result of violating player safety rules that came to an end after the Vikings polished off the Browns. They also claimed running back Mack Brown off of waivers from Washington, who let Brown go to make room for offensive line help ahead of Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys. Brown has eight carries for 29 yards and one catch for 11 yards in three appearances this season. Assuming he remains on the roster through the bye week, his first game with the Vikings will come against his former team in Week 10. To make room, the Vikings waived wide receiver Rodney Adams and offensive lineman Cornelius Edison. Adams was a fifth-round pick this year, but has yet to see action in the regular season.
Teddy Bridgewater Activation Watch is in full swing. The Minnesota Vikings quarterback is nearing a full return to the field just 15 months after suffering what looked at the time to be a devastating career-ending knee injury. Now with Minnesota leading the NFC North at 6-2, thanks to heroic understudy work from Case Keenum, the Vikes are preparing to welcome their former franchise quarterback back into the fold.
What's the rush Teddy so far Case Keenum has not crumbled under pressure Teddy take your time and get well but just take your time we know you want to play
Stefon Diggs says Vikings’ receivers don’t worry about who their quarterback is The Vikings opened the season with Sam Bradford at quarterback, went to Case Keenum after Bradford’s Week One injury, and may go to Teddy Bridgewater if he shows in practice that he’s all the way back from last year’s injury. And the Vikings’ receivers don’t particularly care who’s throwing the ball. That’s the word from Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs, who said on PFT Live that none of the receivers spend any time thinking about who’s playing quarterback. “It’s not something we talk about or even think about in the receiver room,” Diggs said. “We’re going to support them no matter who it is, no matter what’s going on, no matter the situation, we’ve got faith in whoever they put back there. We’ve got to catch the ball anyway regardless of who’s throwing it.” Not many teams have three quarterbacks they’re confident they can win with, but the Vikings do. That’s a good position for a team to be in, and Diggs sounds happy bout it.
Well it's all lollipops and gum drops now according to Diggs as long Keenum don't get hurt,I think Sam might be history but he is right about one thing no matter who's the qb they still have to catch the ball
Case Keenum, Minnesota Vikings Keenum is doing an excellent job manning his first-place Vikings. But a scoring machine Keenum is not. Throughout seven contests, Keenum has managed just seven passing touchdowns. Plus, he has three games on the books where he failed to score at all. The Vikings are a run-heavy offense. And that helps Keenum a great deal. But overall, Keenum could stand to improve on his 88.8 quarterback rating and his 6.9 yards per pass. Luckily, Keenum has some great receiving weapons. With a possible returns of Sam Bradford and Teddy Bridgewater looming, Keenum needs to prove he is worthy of keeping his starting job.
it's the Defense that makes Keenum look ok but he has played pretty well Teddy coming back will be interesting to see if you still got it after a couple of hits and real hard sacks, time to start coaching up Kyle Sloter to be the back up qb next year, just in case Keenum falls flat on face Sam you just can't count on him..tough games ahead the the Div. Title is at stake
Teddy’s return is coming The window soon will be closing on the Vikings ability to let quarterback Teddy Bridgewater practice without devoting a roster spot to him. And just as that window closes, the Vikings will move a player from the roster and put Bridgewater back on it. Despite an effort by coach Mike Zimmer to mildly equivocate, Bridgewater will be back. As previously mentioned, the nature of his injury (a non-contact ACL and related damage) makes clearance to practice also clearance to play. And Bridgewater is, and has been, ready to play. If he’s not moved to the roster, Bridgewater’s contract will toll for a year, prompting an inevitable grievance from Bridgewater challenging the decision to not declare him ready to play and, in turn, ready to hit the market in March, barring a new deal. If he’s added to the roster (he will be), the question is whether, when adding Bridgewater to the roster, the Vikings will try to slip quarterback Kyle Sloter through waivers and on to the practice squad, or whether they will shut quarterback Sam Bradford down for the rest of the season. Don’t be surprised if it’s the latter, since Bradford has played less than one half of one game since Week One, with no indication he’ll be ready to go again this year. So it will likely be Bridgewater, Sloter, and Case Keenum for the rest of the year, with the biggest question becoming whether and when Bridgewater will take over for Keenum, who has played surprisingly well in place of Bradford. (PFT)
Being that he can't stay on the field looks like Sam Bradford is the odd man out,I will be shocked if they keep him...IMO
