they kept Terence Newman huh thought he might be gone i was wrong,Matt Asiata another depth move maybe and maybe not and plus he's tough guy...Justin Trattou he really didn't get the chance to show what he can do,looks like another depth move
WOW the comments by Mike Wallace sad say's a lot about your character as a MAN,whats with all the bitterness...did you forget that Teddy had very little time back there instead of bad mouthing him you should have been helping him to be a better QB,people were saying bad things about you when you were at Miami guess they were right SAD!!!!
Wallace has no room to talk. It wasnt like he hauled in everything teddy threw his way anyway. Guy's like that bring a team down... Im glad he's gone.
i was over at NFL.com Jaylon Smith knee injury does not scare me at all, hope teams sleep on him and the Vikings pick him, because of the injury he can recover he's young and he really is quite good and his speed is very impressive...Barr Kendricks and Smith that's a lot speed and power
Vikings agree to terms with Andre Smith on 1-year deal MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ? The offseason overhaul of the Minnesota Vikings offensive line continued on Thursday with the addition of free agent tackle Andre Smith. Smith agreed to terms on a one-year deal three days after visiting the Twin Cities, and his addition bolsters a group that struggled to protect young quarterback Teddy Bridgewater last season. Smith visited Minnesota on Sunday and Monday, dining with Vikings brass and touring the new stadium that is set to open in August. But he left without a deal and also visited the Arizona Cardinals before ultimately choosing the Vikings. Smith tweeted a picture of his new Vikings nameplate for his locker in announcing his decision. "Minneapolis here I come...Excited to join the great Vikings organization today on a 1-yr deal!" Smith wrote. It's the latest in a series of moves by general manager Rick Spielman and coach Mike Zimmer aimed at upgrading the line. They signed coveted guard Alex Boone from the San Francisco 49ers, replaced offensive line coach Jeff Davidson with Tony Sparano and brought back veteran tackle Phil Loadholt and guard Mike Harris. Smith is expected to compete with Loadholt, who is returning from a torn Achilles tendon, and T.J. Clemmings, who was the starter as a rookie when Loadholt went down, for the starting right tackle spot. Smith was the sixth overall draft pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2009. He was the starter at right tackle for the last five seasons in Cincinnati.
great move this can only help the O-line still draft an O-lineman its starting to look like the Vikings will have outstanding backups, looking like going for a wr might be in there plans....i do hope other teams sleep on Jaylon Smith because of the injury to the knee
Kinda impressive how the Vikings really get no respect,oh did you read how Mike Wallace backtracking on his comments about Teddy just pitful in so many way's,he's ran just one route go for the long bomb...HE FAILED BIG TIME this guy is a joke lol
its time to take training wheels off...Norv the Vikings Offense needs to be more dynamic this year i want to see less of the Teddy check down crap,if not then it might be time for a change who knows maybe moving indoors will help...it will be interesting will they take the next step up ?
i'm starting to think the Vikings just might get a top flight wr cause teams need D-lineman and O-lineman D-backs,and take the number 84 away from CP he's not a BIG TIME player like Randy Moss was..be nice if the Vikings could find one like Corey Colman yeah he's only 5"11 and weighs only194 he's not big but he is a big time player cause he was a big time player at Baylor
With the moves they have made in Free Agency... I wouldnt be surprised if they didnt target a WR in the early rounds.
Sterling Shepard wr Oklahoma gee has a lot of speed and will fight for the ball,or Darren Carrington wr Oregon this guy could be a really special he's fast also...they still need a bad azz D-lineman
Vikings sign former Bemidji State TE Leonhardt The Minnesota Vikings have signed tight end Brian Leonhardt (LEE'-in-hart). The contract was completed Monday, bringing the native of Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, back to his home state. The 6-foot-5, 255-pound Leonhardt went undrafted out of Bemidji State and spent time with Oakland and Cleveland over his first two years in the NFL. He played last season for San Francisco, where his position coach was Tony Sparano, now offensive line coach of the Vikings. Leonhardt is one of six Minnesota natives on the roster, joining wide receivers Isaac Fruechte, Terrell Sinkfield and Adam Thielen, cornerback Marcus Sherels and offensive tackle Carter Bykowski. Leonhardt is also one of seven former NCAA Division II players now with the Vikings. __________________________________________ Home Cooking.
Tyrone Holmes never heard about him..being from a small school maybe that's why Montana DE 6"2 1/4 253 lbs reminds Vikings Coach of Everson that's pretty high praise is this a steal or a smoke screen....its getting close to draft let the games begin
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer gives brutally honest assessment of his defense Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer did not beat around the bush Wednesday when asked whether his defense could become an elite unit. "I don?t know. I don?t think we?re very good, to be honest. I think we played good in spurts." The Vikings' overall defense last year was not bad. It ranked fifth-best in the league in total points allowed (302) and was 13th overall in yards-per-game (344.2). But Minnesota's run defense was mediocre at best, ranking 17th overall with 109.2 rushing yards-per-game. Minnesota's offense was the bigger problem. The Vikings were knocked out of the playoffs after dropping their Wild Card game to the Seattle Seahawks, 10-9. The low score was not surprising considering the Vikings finished the regular season ranked 29th in yards-per-game (321.2) and finished second-to-last in passing yards-per-game (183.0). Zimmer admitted he has room to improve in terms of coaching the offense. Zimmer self-criticism: "I could still do a better job with the offense and the special teams. I still spend a ton of time with the defense." His remarks come a week after former Vikings wide receiver Mike Wallace took a shot at Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Wallace signed with the Baltimore Ravens earlier this month and claimed he had no intention of returning to Minnesota because he said he needs "a good quarterback." (Fox Sports) ___________________________________ I love the way the defense is headed. Defense wins and the Vikings are on the right track. Last years defense was very good... this years has the potential to become great.
State of the Vikings nice read..not a Matt Kalil fan but Alex Boone will help cause Fusco at times made Kalil look bad..Zimmer was right about the Defense a D-lineman is a MUST to shut down the running game,he needs a good quarterback that was a shot he had no intention of returning... so what nobody is crying...its a important year for the Vikings and Teddy to step up to the next level
Thanks, Badd_Man. Im really looking forward to next season already. How will Teddy Play? Will AP tear it up again? Who's the go-to guy for Wide Receivers? ...and that defense is sure going to be great to watch.
