as much as i want CP to be part of the game plan he needs to step up his game, they should try Austin Shepard at LT and move Kalil to Guard enough of the choppy feet, can Tony Sparano help the O-line,cause it starting to look like NFC NORTH is going to very tough this year no more of this Green Bay is the favorite ( they will be still good ) and the other teams of the NFC NORTH the cakewalk is over the Vikings Bears Lions are getting better and better

Vikings hire new Brent Salazar as new strength coach EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) ? The Minnesota Vikings have hired Brent Salazar as the team's new strength and conditioning coach. The Vikings announced the move on Wednesday. Salazar spent the previous nine seasons as the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Kansas City Chiefs. Salazar has never been a head strength coach. He got his start as an intern at New Mexico in 2002 while he was a tennis player at the school. He worked an internship with the Denver Broncos in 2005 and landed with the Chiefs in 2007. Salazar replaces Evan Marcus, who was dismissed at season's end. The Vikings had a rash of pectoral injuries during Marcus's two years on the staff, prompting coach Mike Zimmer to make the change.
Looks like this might be a good hire,if he can bring some of the toughness of the Chiefs to the Vikings is a good thing IMO
Vikings' offseason priority lies with offensive line EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) ? After finishing 11-5 with a division title, the Minnesota Vikings will look in 2016 a lot like they did last season. Still, general manager Rick Spielman must make some important decisions over the next two months. His moves will go a long way toward determining whether the Vikings can take another step closer to Super Bowl contention. Upgrading the offensive line is most critical for the Vikings. That position group Spielman first mentioned when asked Thursday what he needed to add or change to improve. Veterans John Sullivan and Phil Loadholt might be the trickiest piece of the equation. They're rehabilitating from season-ending injuries and carrying big contracts. Spielman declined to put a timetable on their return to full strength.
hey Ricky WTF you got to be kidding same old same old,i think Sullivan might be gone along with Loadholt and move Kalil to guard...Ricky knows the O-line is a weak spot it just can't be the same
Ended up in a conversation yesterday about the Vikings and what could be done this off-season. Interesting stuff. There is a lot of wiggle room money wise and if they make some tough cuts and move some players around there may be over $25mil in cap space to work with in free agency. The Vikings are in a unique position to get young and talented and secure a seat at the front of the class in the NFC North.
They are tough decisions for sure, but they are sitting in a good position. If they decide to cut Loadholt and Sullivan and can do something very friendly with Greenway, thats a lot of cash right there. Greenway wants to resign and retire a Viking, but the Vikings arnt real thrilled about spending big bucks there. Solidify the O-line and the defensive secondary and they will have something. Some folks think they need a go-to receiver for Teddy, but they do have a lot of targets there and may want to move that position down a notch in priority's. But, your right... they are in a decent position to do some serious damage and take charge of things. With a little luck come draft time and some smart moves, they will be just fine.
Danielle Hunter should take over as a starting DE so moving Robison seems like a smart move. Save some money and improve the depth in FA or in the draft for less cash. Safety is a must. If they can't get a 'do-it-all' at SS then getting a pair to compliment each other (one for run support, one for coverage) for a decent price would be the way to go until a solid option presents itself. As for receiver - if the option presents itself for a true threat in the passing game at TE then that should be the route they pursue. Having a pass catching TE that can change games and is solid in possession routes would be a perfect compliment to Teddy's playing style.
what do you know about Kansas State OL Cody Whitehair cause i know nothing about him,i want the Vikings to draft Jalen Ramsey DB and Su'a Cravens LB USC this guy looks like a pretty good football player

WOW this guy is very impressive seems like a can't miss pick, time for Nick Easton to show what you got he's a center right? TJ Clemmings got to step up your game...which way will the draft go i think it will be Defense
I think it goes defensive secondary also. At the same time they will be watching the WR's and O-lineman. I suppose it depends on who falls off or is available on the big board.
A noted strategist on draft day, Spielman has parlayed a war chest of Vikings draft picks into several extra first round selections over the last few years, trading up and into the back half of the first round in 2012, 2013 and 2014. "When there are players we feel strongly about, that we think can be potential unique players for us and building blocks for our future, and then and having a sense that maybe, we were higher in the second, but they're potentially not going to get to you there, to be aggressive and go get the player you covet," Spielman said. The moves have paid off more often than not, bringing Harrison Smith and Bridgewater to Minnesota, while the jury is still out on gifted special-teamer and struggling receiver Cordarrelle Patterson. "I've talked to Cordarrelle, I've talked to his agents, we've had our meetings, and Cordarrelle has to come in and, I think his mindset is he knows he has to come in and become a better receiver, a little bit more consistent receiver on just the nuances part of the game," Spielman said. "There's no question about what type of athlete he is. There's no question about the explosive, play-making ability he has with the ball in his hand. It's just a matter of, 'Is he going to be able to take that next step or not?'" And while Patterson may not be developing quite as quickly as the Vikings would hope, look for Spielman and the Vikings to keep making moves as the draft approaches. (in part from Fox Sports)
some times these mock drafts are a trip, the Vikings got pretty good wr IMO they need a stud safety stud O-lineman and a stud LB to replace Greenway....i just don't get the wr talk by the time Vikings pick its looking like best player on the board
I agree. Some of these mock's are off base. Vikings will target a WR, but i dont think they will in the 1st round.
10 Potential Free Agent Signings for the Minnesota Vikings George Iloka, S, Bengals ? Age: 25 This just makes too much sense, not only does Iloka fill a huge need next to Harrison Smith but also played under Zimmer for Cincy. As of now I would say the Vikings are the front runner for his services. How I see the Vikings losing out is if a team like the Browns or Lions overpay for his services?.. something we know Spielman won?t do. Brian Quick WR, Rams ? Age: 26 What do the Vikings receiving depth chart need? Size. Quick is a 6?4, 220 lb big ole target, who would give the Purple a big body to toss in with Stefon Diggs and Jaruis Wright. While Quick has never lived up to his 2nd round selection in 2012, he is still only 26 years of age and is in need of a change of scenery. Kelechi Osemele, G/OT, Ravens ? Age: 26 Osemele is the big ticket free agent offensive lineman for 2016. Unfortunately with that comes many suitors and a high price tag. He has proven to be one of the top big guys in the league and at the age 26 has plenty left in the tank. He would slide in day one as the best offensive lineman on the Vikings and would help be the anchor the Vikings desperately need. Zach Brown LB, Lions ? Age: 26 Would Brown be the final piece to the Vikings linebacker trio? No, probably not. But he would add some solid depth and push for a starting spot day one. The former 2nd round pick has put up some numbers, 10 sacks, 6 INTs, and 2 TDs in his 1st four seasons in the NFL, all while starting 32 games for the Titans. Patrick Robinson CB, Chargers ? Age: 28 With Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes, and the Captain the Vikings won?t be looking to add a guy who needs to come in and start. Just need to add some depth. Currently Marcus Sherels, Josh Robinson, and Terrence Newman are all set to hit free agency, and with the exception of Newman I don?t see any coming back. Leaving a pretty good sized need, the Vikings wanted Robinson when he came out of Florida St., they might still get their opportunity. Andre Smith OT, Bengals ? Age: 29 Smith is one of the top offensive tackles that will be available when free agency rolls around. The need for big men for the Vikings will heavily depend on what they do with Loadholt/Kalil. The thought is one of them won?t be back so adding a guy like Smith isn?t completely out of the question. Again I dip back into the Bengals castoffs, not only because of Zimmer?s familiarity, but Smith is an above average right tackle and would no doubt be an upgrade. Rueben Randle WR, Giants ? Age: 24 Again, for receiver i?m sticking to the theme of going bigger. Randle is 6?2, 208 lbs and while he won?t ever be more than a #2 receiver he still has plenty of potential. Only a year ago he had 71 rec for 900+ yards, so he can put up numbers if he his given the chance. The knock on Randle during his short career is his ability to get open. Shane Lechler P, Texans ? Age: 39 Yeah, Lechler is old as dirt ?. but he is still averaging over 47 yards a punt and really showing no signs of slowing down. Even if the came in on a 1 year deal, he could help stop the bleeding in the punting game which the Vikings have endured during the Jeff Locke era. Alex Boone, G, 49ers. Age: 29 Boone has come a long way from being an undrafted free agent out of Ohio St. At the age of 28 he has become an above average guard in the NFL. He has started 59 games in his career and has been one of the most important parts of the 49ers offensive line over the past few years. Very intense dude, which is needed on the current offensive line ?. he was once arrested in college for jumping on car hoods and yanking on a tow truck cable. Eric Weddle S, Chargers Age: 31 Can?t really talk Viking 2016 Free Agency without talking about Eric Weddle. Same as talked about above with Iloka, safety will be a position the Vikings will look long and hard at improving. Weddle is the sexy name and even at age of 31 he is still playing at a high level and probably has 2-3 more solid years left in him. I think Weddle will only be considered if Iloka doesn?t pan out and if he comes at the right price. ____________ ____________________ George Iloka... sign this guy!!! ____________ (FOXSPORTS)
if he can help Harrison Smith this George iloka then go for it,if CP won't step up then its time to let him go....he's really has dishonor the number 84 ( he does have awesome talent ) cause he aint no Randy Moss i just don't get the WR talk the O-line seems to be a very important need linebacker Su'a cravens comes to mind,if Teddy has little time to make a pass the talk of a WR make's no sense to me
AP Source: Vikings agree to terms with S Andrew Sendejo MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ? The Minnesota Vikings kept two of their players from reaching free agency by agreeing to deals with safety Andrew Sendejo and defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis on Saturday. Sendejo agreed to a four-year contract, a person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the move had not been officially announced. Sendejo could have tested the free-agent waters beginning on Wednesday, but instead elected to return for a sixth season in purple. Sendejo started 14 games for the Vikings last year after beating out Robert Blanton for the starting job opposite Harrison Smith. He had 74 tackles and one interception. Coach Mike Zimmer said at the NFL Combine that the Vikings were looking for another playmaker to allow the standout Smith some more freedom and acknowledged he wasn't sure if that player was on the roster. It's not immediately clear if Sendejo's deal, which was first reported by Fox Sports, will keep the Vikings from looking for another safety or if they plan to give the job to Sendejo. Ellis got a one-year deal, agent Drew Smith said. Ellis joined the Vikings last October after being let go by the New York Giants and played in nine games for Minnesota. He was a third-round draft pick by the New York Jets in 2011.
Vikings enter free agency wary of risk MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ? The Minnesota Vikings will again enter NFL free agency with a conservative approach. They've made their share of high-dollar signings over the past decade, but under general manager Rick Spielman the roster-building philosophy has further grown toward drafting and developing. Most of their money is spent on their own players. When the market officially opens Wednesday afternoon with the new league year, the Vikings have the salary-cap space to be competitive with needs in the secondary and on the offensive line for starters. But Spielman and coach Mike Zimmer have spoken warily this offseason about the allure of free agency. The Vikings retained another one of their own Tuesday by re-signing linebacker Audie Cole to a one-year contract. ________________________________ Spielman and Zimmer need to do the right thing to win now and not worry or look to far into the future. Sometimes I wonder about Spielman...
