i was over at NFL.com the Vikings schedule for 2016 home Bears Lions Packers Giants Cowboys Colts Texans Cardinals away Bears Lions Packers Eagles Redskins Titans Jaguars Panthers it looks interesting and tough...the Vikings 1st pick according to Mel Kiper is TCU Josh Doctson i think he's wrong he will be gone by the time the Vikings pick,i've checked out Michael Thomas Ohio State him and Diggs they could be a nice thing for Teddy what do you know about Kyle Murphy Stanford can he be the one to protect Teddy's Blindside? cause Matt Kalil can't get the job done
That is an interesting schedule. Good post BaddMan. Im going to do some research on the Stanford player and some other offensive linemen. Micheal Thomas would make a fine addition too. I dont know if Josh D would make it down to Minnesota or not. Vikings have been aggressive with trading for draft position also. I hope they get it right and have one damn good draft. They sure have done well the past couple drafts... hope that continues.
I have this on Josh Doctson - I think Doctson may be a post-combine faller. I don't expect him to grade well in shorts and that, coupled with what appears to be a lack of gaining separation in college, will probably see him being somewhere between the 4th and 7th receiver in this draft. There is also the question of his height and weight. He is listed anywhere from 6'2" to 6'4", 180 to 190 pounds. At 6'4" and 190 without good speed and agility then there will be concerns about his ability to hold his own against corners in the strength and weight department. Far too often he gets hit with a jam at the line by lesser talent and it disrupts his release. As for natural hands and eye coordination, there is no one better in this draft than Josh. If you struggle to get open though, you never get a chance to showcase those hands.
wow that's a massive red flag if you have a tough time and struggle to get open hands and eye coordination means nothing,do you see bust as a pro
I don't see a bust, but I don't see a first round pick. For some players, they are gifted enough that no matter what system you put them in they will still put up numbers. Better system, better numbers, but on the overall they still get theirs. Other players need a system that highlights there skills and masks their flaws. Josh fits that mold and will need some help around him. Ideally, if he could end up somewhere like Oakland that has 2 first round picks already in place at WR he could become a deadly threat inside the redzone lined up against nickel corners.
7 players the Vikings must move on from in 2016 Kevin Boilard highlights seven players the Minnesota Vikings need to move on from this offseason. By Kevin Boilard; The Minnesota Vikings need to revamp their roster this offseason. In order to bring in fresh talent, they need to first part ways with the players who have grown stale. There are a couple players who might get cut for the cap savings. The other players on this list have contracts expiring this spring and may not be back in Minnesota for the 2016 season. The Vikings must move on from the following seven players. 1. Mike Wallace The Vikings traded for Wallace last offseason, hoping that he could stretch the field with his speed. Instead, he finished third on the team in receiving yards -- behind a fifth-round rookie and a tight end. He averaged a career-low 12.1 yards per reception and scored only two touchdowns. Wallace has the team's highest cap number in 2016 ($11.5 million), but the Vikings can save all of that money by cutting him before June 1. 2. Brian Robison Robison is an aging defensive end who's standing in the way of Danielle Hunter. He will turn 33 in April and has never recorded double-digit sacks in a season. Robison had five sacks as a starter in 2015, while Hunter registered six from his role as a rotational pass-rusher. The Vikings can save more than $3 million by cutting Robison, clearing the way for Hunter to start opposite Everson Griffen. 3. Chad Greenway The Vikings are getting younger at linebacker with Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks in the lineup, so Greenway is starting to stick out like a sore thumb. He's simply not as fit for the job at 33 years old as he was when he was in his prime, making Pro Bowls. The veteran linebacker is slated to become a free agent this spring, and the Vikings would be wise to let him walk rather than pay to have him back. They should be able to find a more athletic option this offseason. 4. Terence Newman Newman has milked his NFL career for all its worth, but he's not going to start 16 games for the Vikings again next season. He's heading toward free agency and his 38th birthday, which is not a good combination for a cornerback in this league. Minnesota's first-round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft, Trae Waynes (No. 11 overall), saw minimal playing time as a rookie. The Vikings need to replace Newman by pairing Xavier Rhodes with Waynes. 5. Matt Asiata Although Asiata had some shining moments during the season in which starting running back Adrian Peterson was suspended, he was rarely utilized in 2015. He finished the season with 112 rushing yards and no touchdowns. Peterson hasn't shown any signs of slowing down; considering the emergence of Jerick McKinnon as a change-of-pace back, there doesn't seem to be much of a reason to prevent Asiata from hitting the open market this offseason. 6. Robert Blanton The Vikings need a reliable safety to start next to Harrison Smith, but they can be sure Blanton isn't the best man for the job. He started 13 games in 2014, before losing that role to Andrew Sendejo. Blanton, a former fifth-round draft pick, had his opportunity and couldn't cut it. Minnesota's not missing out on anything by letting this 26-year-old free-agent-to-be walk this spring. 7. Audie Cole Cole is another player who had a glowing opportunity but left much to be desired in the starting lineup. Eric Kendricks ended up earning the starting middle linebacker role over this former seventh-round selection. Cole, whose rookie contract is finally set to expire, has no future with the Vikings after appearing in seven games and recording only three tackles in 2015. __________________________________ _________________________________________ What do you think? I agree with, Wallace, Cole and Asiatta, but Greenway is a tough one , but still might be necessary. They are going to have to clean house and i like what some of the younger players have done for the team. A few are no-brainers too me, but still tough to cut a couple on that list.
its time for Brian Robison to go its Danielle Hunter time now,you can let Mike Wallace go and draft Michael Thomas draft a LB and make Chad Greenway the LB coach, and you can show old azz Terence Newman the door Matt Asiata that's a tough one but i believe Jerick McKinnon can get the job done,Robert Blanton and don't forget Josh Robinson and Audie Cole they can go....its on to the next chapter

gee where did you get that info, man he sounds like a pretty tough dude the Cardinals did have an outstanding run game and passing game...he does sound perfect to protect Teddy's blindside and thanks, and i did see some of there games i didn't know anything about Kyle Murphy
I actually picked it up from the University of Stanford web-site. I couldnt find anything on rotowire, so i plugged his name into a search engine and the rest is history. He sounds almost too good to be true. I think he will find a job in the NFL.
Vikings sign Minn. native Sinkfield to reserve/future contract The Vikings have signed Minnetonka native and Hopkins High School graduate Terrell Sinkfield to a reserve/future contract. Sinkfield, 25, was a three-year starter at wide receiver for the University of Northern Iowa, playing in 39 games and accumulating 1,097 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. He spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills and New York Giants in 2013 and played with the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League the past two years. Sinkfield caught 86 passes for 1,240 yards and seven touchdowns in the CFL, including 69 passes for 1,030 yards in 2015. Sinkfield, a running back at Hopkins, was named to the Minneapolis Star Tribune's 3rd-Team All-Metro in 2008. He was unofficially clocked at 4.19 seconds in the 40-yard dash in March 2013 at the University of Minnesota Pro Day.
Vikings hire former Eagles OC Shurmur to staff With three offensive coordinators in Philly, there wasn't room for a fourth, so the Eagles' loss was the Vikings' gain. Minnesota has hired former Eagles OC Pat Shurmur to join coach Mike Zimmer's staff, NFL on FOX insider Jay Glazer reported Saturday night. Earlier this month the Eagles hired Doug Pederson, the Chiefs' offensive coordinator, as their new head coach. Pederson, in turn, hired Chargers OC Frank Reich and Browns OC John DeFilippo, who will coach the quarterbacks. Last season under Shurmur, the Eagles offense ranked 12th in the NFL while Minnesota's ranked 29th. However, head coach Chip Kelly was fired at the end of December as the Eagles wrapped up a 7-9 season. _____________________________ ______________________________________ This is interesting. Lets see how this effects Teddy and the offense.
is this Terrell Sinkfield a diamond in the rough? he sure has been with alot of teams,Dolphins,Packers,Bills Giants..then the CFL Toronto Argonauts,Hamilton Tiger-Cats makes me wonder does he have what it takes...the Vikings new OC Pat Shurmur might be a good thing cause it seems like Norv could use all the help he can get...maybe he can help fix the O-line and the RedZone problems the Vikings have had at times how this will affect Teddy's game should be very interesting
