He just makes me nervous i just see Capt Kirk 2.0 except Capt Kirk did have touch something Sam Darnold needs to worķ on,iwith JJ McCarthy it's a cross your fingers and toes hope that he's not injury prone and hope he"s not a BUST i just think Matt Stafford could help him to become an NFL QƁ the Vikings better stay the hell away Aaron Rodgers and his circus what's going to happen with Sam Darnold don't know
Vikings have until Tuesday (4PM ET) to Franchise Darnold, its a mess in Minnesota... I have no idea what they will do or what they should do.
I personally dont see the reason to pay him $40M to stick around, but we need a good FA backup. I sure hope he has a dry, almost dessert like, FA period, then maybe he signs a Vikings favored contract for 2 years or something.
Vikings have till 4PM today to Tag Darnold... reports say they probably wont. I hope he will do a team-friendly signing tho, so the ball is in his court at the moment. Im really curious to see what other teams may put on the table.
Darnold did not get the Tag, reports indicate the Vikings are still in conversation to keep him around... for what thats worth.
It's just time to move on for better or worse It's JJ McCarthy time I'm not sure he will have the year he had i just can't forget the meltdown against the Lions and the Rams go away wish you the best go away It's just time to turn the page GO VIKINGS!
Theo Jackson agrees to two-year deal with Vikings The Vikings are retaining one of their pending restricted free agents. Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, Minnesota has agreed to a two-year deal with safety Theo Jackson. The initial report indicates Jackson’s contract is worth $12.615 million. Originally a Titans sixth-round pick in 2022, Jackson signed with Minnesota midway through his rookie season off of Tennessee’s practice squad. He appeared in 11 games for the Vikings that year before playing 15 in 2023 and 17 in 2024. He’s recorded 47 career tackles with four passes defensed and two interceptions. Jackson has been a heavy special teams contributor, playing 76 percent of the club’s snaps on the unit in 2024. But he could move into a larger role in 2025 as Cam Bynum is a pending free agent and Harrison Smith’s future is still uncertain. PFT
Report: Najee Harris 'is on the Vikings' radar' If the Minnesota Vikings can't re-sign running back Aaron Jones, a name to watch is Najee Harris, according to Darren Wolfson of KSTP-TV. "Continue to hear, the Vikings having dialogue with Drew Rosenhaus, the Rosenhaus representation with Aaron Jones in mind. What is that price point? I don't think the Vikings are going beyond $7 million on Aaron Jones. It may even be a tick less than that," Wolfson said Thursday Minnesota Sports with Mackey & Judd. "But the Vikings want Aaron Jones back. That is priority No. 1. If they have to pivot, if Jones ends up elsewhere, Najee Harris. My understanding is Najee Harris, a free agent, is on the Vikings' radar." If the Vikings don't want to pay Jones more than $7 million, how much are they going to offer a younger back like Harris, who is about turn 27 while Jones will be 31 in December? Former NFL agent Joel Corry recently wrote for CBS Sports that Harris could get a three-year, $30 million deal in free agency. $10 million per season for a running back who has been slightly above average during his career? Minnesota has money to spend, but is that where they want to invest it? Jones rushed 255 times for 1,138 yards and five touchdowns while adding 51 receptions for 408 yards and two touchdowns. Harris, in his fourth season with Pittsburgh, finished with 266 carries for 1,043 yards and four touchdowns, whiel adding 36 receptions for 283 yards. Free agency opens March 12, but teams can't start negotiations on Monday, March 10. YARDBARKER ______ _________________ I'll take them both, lol. I really like Harris, I really like Jones... they had better get busy on a solid #1RB with a solid #2 also. Ive always been a proponent of 2, not 1 good RB on an offense.
The signing of Jackson for 2 years might be an indicator that they are prepared to lose Bynum to Free Agency. The Vikings really like Bynum, but nearly a year long 'talk' of a new contract hasnt gained anything, so if Bynum walks, Jackson will take his spot. Then there is the question on whether Smith is returning also. Lots to juggle in Minneapolis. PS - That $12M/2yrs for Jackson is starter money.
as much as its pains me Cam Bynum is gone, just how good is Theo Jackson? I would love Najee Harris as a member of the Minnesota Vikings
Kwesi what is your plan seems like your happy doing nothing so far its Theo Jackson I'm starting to think you will do nothing you need to tell the Vikings fans something
With Justin Fields becoming a FA on Monday, I was doing some thinking. Wouldnt Fields be a really cool backup to JJ McCarthy? The guy could have good if not great targets, move well in the pocket when the o-line collapses per usual and he could run like the blazes when all check downs are covered. Im going to have my people call his people and then maybe twist Kwesi's arm a little.
