Now Lions running game is awesome this will be a good test to see just how good there Run D is Vikings in the 1st half pretty good lion's ok 2nd half Detroit Lion's come on like gang busters Vikings kinda fade, I got a feeling this will be a game of big plays
I tell ya 1 thing... the Vikings better find a way to play a full 60 minutes. Their last two outings, they were a 1st half football team, its going to take a full 4 quarters if they think they will beat the Lions.
Im predicting a Will Reichard last second FG for the win... I believe he is still perfect as a place kicker (no jinx).
It's time to play a full game and put your foot on there neck like Dan Campbell would i'm pretty comfortable with the kicking game now it's used cause me fits when it came to fg's
Minnesota Vikings - Injuries Out LB Blake Cashman (toe) Cashman has been a rock for Minnesota as its starting middle linebacker, and the man responsible for relaying the defensive calls to his teammates on the field. Second-year player Ivan Pace Jr. will likely wear the green dot in Cashman’s absence. Veteran Kamu Grugier-Hill should also have an expanded role against the Lions. CB Akayleb Evans (hip) Evans has made his largest contributions to the Vikings on special teams this season. He’s logged a total of three defensive snaps in 2024, and none since Week 1. Questionable OLB Patrick Jones II (shoulder) Jones appears to be on the right side of questionable after logging a full practice on Friday. He’s contributed five sacks and a forced fumble in 2024. RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) There was concern about Jones’ availability for Week 7 after he missed Wednesday’s practice with a hamstring issue — and not the hip injury that knocked him out prior to the bye week. Jones returned to practice on both Thursday and Friday, though, and NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that he’s on track to play on Sunday. DT Harrison Phillips (shoulder) Minnesota should have its starting nose tackle on Sunday after he practiced in full on Friday. His presence could be key against a Lions offense that likes to play smash-mouth football between the tackles, especially in the red zone. TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) Despite making obvious strides in his recovery the past few weeks, Hockenson is not expected to make his anticipated 2024 debut against Detroit. Although he’s been medically cleared, the team is taking a cautious approach with its star tight end. G Dalton Risner (back) The former second-round pick remains on injured reserve, but after practicing all three days this week, there’s a chance he’s activated prior to Sunday’s game. The Vikings would first need to add Risner to the 53-man roster. If that happens, he could be in the mix on the right side of the line with the struggling Ed Ingram. ______________ I'll take Risner over Ingram any day. Ingram doesnt rank very well, he's kinda the weak link on the o-line.
Minnesota Vikings 2024 stats Offensive yards per game: 342.4 Defensive yards allowed per game: 356.2 Points scored per game: 27.8 Points allowed per game: 15.2 Detroit Lions 2024 stats Offensive yards per game: 432.4 Defensive yards allowed per game: 348.8 Points scored per game: 30.2 Points allowed per game: 18.2
Wow it's damn near even you know I wish the Vikings would make big time play for Maxx Crosby that guy is freaking awesome the Vikings could use a player like that
T.J. Hockenson downgraded to out, won’t be activated for Week 7 T.J. Hockenson’s return will have to wait at least another week. The Vikings have downgraded Hockenson to out and he will not be activated for Sunday’s game against the Packers. Hockenson, who is returning from a torn ACL and MCL suffered late last season, was a limited participant in practice all week. He is currently on the reserve/physically unable to perform list. There is a possibility Hockenson could be activated for the Week 8 matchup against the Rams on Thursday night. Guard Dalton Risner (back) has also been downgraded to out after he was limited all week. He’s currently on injured reserve. Additionally, the Vikings signed tight end Robert Tonyan to their 53-man roster off of their practice squad. He’s appeared in three games this year, playing mostly special teams. As a corresponding move, Minnesota waived receiver Trishton Jackson. Minnesota has elevated defensive lineman Jalen Redmond and outside linebacker Bo Richter from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s game.
OK now I'm nervous is Kwesi going make a move the D-line and O-line they could use the help i wonder is Budda Baker on the table i think Brian Flores could use him
Why did the Vikings trade for Cam Akers if there not going use him a couple of kick returns and that's it i just thought he would a play a bigger role guess I wrong
Do the Vikings have an OC? someone to make calls besides ĶOC Sam at time he locked like he was lost the missed easy passes to wide open receiver's
I believe that Sam Darnold has reached his ceiling as good as he has played,he folded under pressure the high passes missing wide open receivers throwing low passes guess I'm just upset they lost a game they should have won
Kevin O’Connell: “Very much a possibility” T.J. Hockenson returns this week The Vikings have been methodical in bringing back T.J. Hockenson from the torn ACL and MCL he suffered late last season. But his 21-day practice window is coming to a close. With the Vikings playing the Rams on Thursday night, it stands to reason that Hockenson will be activated this week. But head coach Kevin O’Connell did not commit to the tight end playing when asked about him and guard Dalton Risner — who is also returning from a back injury — on Monday. “It’s early. We’ll make that determination kind of as these next couple of days [go by],” O’Connell said in his news conference. “As we put together game plans, we want to have a good feel for that. But, very much a possibility.” The Vikings listed Hockenson as limited but Risner as a full participant on Monday’s injury report estimate. Hockenson’s return would be a boost to Minnesota’s offense. He caught 95 passes for 960 yards with five touchdowns for the club in 15 games last year. O’Connell also noted linebacker Blake Cashman is progressing, though the Vikings estimated that he would not have participated on Monday. “If we can have him, great. If not, I do feel very positive about the [Week 9] Colts game, for sure,” O’Connell said. “But I’m not in a place yet to rule him out quite yet.” Cashman has 40 total tackles with a pair of tackles for loss and five passes defensed in five games this season. I have no idea what KOC is going to do? Kwesi before the trade deadline get a stud D-line man do something I'm pretty sure the D-backs will like it oh where is Dallas Turner? how bad is hurt he's like the forgotten man
Minnesota announced the team has signed outside linebacker Bo Richter to the 53-man roster and released tight end Robert Tonyan.
Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell was asked about Turner during his weekly press conference on Monday. O’Connell suggested some of it has to do with the Vikings’ deep linebacking core of Andrew Van Ginkel, Jonathan Greenard, and others, and some of it is just growing through the defense. “Yeah, he’s working through it,” O’Connell said. “He’s a young player in a defense where the roles and responsibilities sometimes in-game can adjust based on what we’re seeing. I think we’ve got a really deep outside linebacker room with Gink (Andrew Van Ginkel) and (Jonathan) Greenard, Pat Jones, and then Haddy (Jihad Ward) has got his role. We’re going to continue to see Dallas have an impact. It may be a growing thing as we go here, but trust me, I’ve got a ton of confidence in Dallas. He’s growing within a pretty high-level IQ defense.” Fans who are concerned about Turner — shouldn’t. O’Connell couldn’t praise Turner enough during his press conference and feels like he will be a huge part of the defense as the season progresses. “I think he’s an incredible fit in our defense, not only in the present but in the future as well,” he said. “He’s gonna be an absolute monster for us. But sometimes, the way the game flow goes, there might be — what personnel are they using and how do we wanna match that personnel, things like that. … I think DT’s growing every single day. I’m more excited about him now than I was even when we drafted him.” VIKINGSWIRE
“I think he’s an incredible fit in our defense, not only in the present but in the future as well,” Good quote by Coach O'connell............I like your Coach, he is a good Irish man and I wonder if he is from County Kerry in Munster Will and Shockers correct me if I'm wrong but Bo Richter has never played a game in the NFL ?
He's appeared in 3 games this season... he has 2 tackles. Very limited so far. Been up and down from the practice squad.
Vikings running back Aaron Jones (hamstring) remained a limited participant in Tuesday’s practice. Jones was injured in Week 5 but recovered over the off week and returned to play against the Lions on Sunday. He had 14 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown while catching three passes for 23 yards. Tight end T.J. Hockenson (knee) also was limited again. The Vikings have until the end of the week to activate him from the physically unable to perform list. The Vikings did have three changes to their practice report: Outside linebacker Patrick Jones II (shoulder), tight end Josh Oliver (wrist) and defensive lineman Harrison Phillips (shoulder) returned to full participation after being estimated as limited Monday. Linebacker Blake Cashman (toe) remained the only player listed as DNP, and cornerback Akayleb Evans (hip) again was limited. _____________ Ive seen reports that indicate Jones will play Thursday... in my opinion, he's just resting and healing up. With Josh Oliver being an FP today in practice, Id think it be best to absolutely be extremely careful with Hockenson. The Vikings could really use/need him healthy down the stretch.
