Report: Danielle Hunter isn’t expected at start of Vikings offseason program



It looks like the Vikings will be starting their offseason work without defensive end Danielle Hunter.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that Hunter is not expected to report for the first day of offseason work on Monday. All work at this stage of the program is voluntary.

Hunter’s contract is the likely reason for his expected absence. Hunter is entering the final year of his current deal and is set to make a base salary of $4.9 million and is believed to be in the market for a new deal.

The Vikings also have contractual issues to sort out with running back Dalvin Cook and edge rusher Za'Darius Smith, so the offseason work in Minnesota won’t be limited to the weight room or practice fields.

Im waiting, not too patiently, for a crumb of good news from Minnesota... so far its all been a bunch of horseshit.

 

And since Budda Baker wants a trade, step up Minnesota and do something, he'd be an awesome fit, IMO.

I'll tell you what... its sports and nothing more to me. I gave up years ago on allowing these team favs of mine to interfere with my life. I love the Vikings, but they have been a buzzkill since their inception, so ive kinda got used to that.

I will admit, every time they take the field, good or bad, Im always hoping they kick some ass.

 

Laughing I will admit I also hope when the Vikings kick ass I'm glad but I'm sooooo sad when they lose hope springs eternal for the Vikings to be elite

 

Why are some of the Vikings podcasts are so negative some of them on Herndon Hooker age I don't get it not that the Vikings should pick him but this blah blah about his age he's in his twenty's not and an old man...seems like Vikings are going to be a running team looks like Bijon ( sp ) Robinson Texas he just might be there if he is pick him!

 

Now Danielle Hunter has deleted all of his Vikings photos ok seems like you don't want to be a member of the Minnesota Vikings, can the Vikings ĝet a first-round pick I doubt it maybe a couple of 2 round pick and what other deal Kwesi-Adofo-Mensah and KOC can make he got game left still an outstanding player if he doesn't want to be here ok then see what they can get it's a big loss for the Vikings

The Vikings biggest draft bust that's a tough one cause there's been so many Jeff George was pretty bad but Christian Ponder was a nervous wreak he was a fumbling machine, Troy Williamson the guy that could not catch l remember Brad Johnson threw him a screen pass and he drop it Brad Johnson just looked at him like really Blair Walsh when a fg had to made you just held your breath he was a choke artist to the highest degree!there are others like Matt Casell he never lived up to the hype coming out from the New England Patriots

 

The Vikings have nailed a few tho, but damn sure have had many bust's.... way too many.

 

Yeah they have Randy Moss John Randell ( sp ) Cris Carter David Dixon Randell McDaniel ( all Star ) Matt Birk Fran the Man Chuck Formen ( sp ) Bud Grant Justin Jefferson I can't remember them all but the Vikings hit on quite a few how could I forget Allen Page Carl Eller and Gary Larsen (the OG).and Gary Sutherland Jim Marshall Paul Krause in the 70's the Vikings had a mean O-line IMO the top two O-lines were the Steelers and the Raiders

 

At 23 Vikings stick and pick or trade back IMO to move up would cost the Vikings big time anyway the draft is a game of chance a crap shoot I hope they can get Bjohn Robinson Texas rb and Cody Mauch ( sp ) North Dakota O-lineman you can never have enough of them

 

It wouldnt shock me if they traded up and tried to grab a QB. Its all just guess work at this point and a whole lot depends on what the teams ahead of them want to do, so its really up in the air for all GM's.

 

In a way I don't want them to pick a QB but is it a Need yes, but the Vikings have so many needs they got to get the Defensive backfield together Justin Jefferson still needs a partner they need to find a stud D-lineman they got 5 picks correct ( sigh )we will see if Koc and Kwesi-Adofo-Mensah have a little magic here

 

I want the Vikings to pass on Will Levis to much hype I wonder if can live up to it to much lifting up of this guy he might turn out to be really good let some other team take a chance to much hype for me
